Description:
All Angela wants is to understand why her father, security specialist Mac McKenzie, dropped dead on a sidewalk in Boston. Instead, she is thrust into the midst of an international conspiracy when she discovers that her father was working on a classified project at the time of his death. Now, the FBI, a terrorist and a killer have her in their sights.

Former Navy SEAL turned undercover operative, Chase Romero thinks his boss is overreacting when he orders Chase to small town America to protect Angela. But he changes his mind when her home is burglarized and “accidents” begin to happen. The real question becomes, how can he keep her safe if he keeps tripping over his own heart?

After shooting an intruder, Angela flees the scene, and the FBI issues a warrant for her arrest. On the run for her life and her freedom, she places her trust in Chase. As they travel from New England, to the nation’s capital, to the shores of Lake Michigan, the trail – and their attraction – grow hotter. Together, they team up to prevent a global financial market meltdown and face a killer who will stop at nothing to get his hands on the project Mac protected with his life.

Daniella’s Thoughts:
I don’t know about you but if a book is good, while I am reading it, it is playing out in my head like a movie and I can honestly say I enjoyed the book, Angel on Fire by Jacquie Johnson. The book started off with a bang and just kept going til the last page. The characters were well-written and kept me interested in them. I was rooting for Angela and Chase throughout the entire book, the way they spoke to eachother was honest and believable. When I wanted to know something regarding their lives (past and present), Ms Johnson did not fail to answer that question which allowed my little movie to play and entertain me while I was reading. Chase, Angela, Sean, and all the characters were very credible in how they acted and what they did. I never questioned anything Angela did because if I had put myself in her place, yeah, I most likely would have done the same thing to survive and go on.

The only thing I can see being an issue was the slight hiccups in continuity throughout some of the book. As if she was writing the book quickly before all the great thoughts in her head were gone, and thus, causing some moments of non-clarity for readers. All-in-all, this book was a great read and did not let me down on the action or adventure as they traveled all over the Upper Midwest and Eastern U.S. trying to find their answers before the bad guys found them. And those bad guys definitely lived up to their parts, I even got wrapped up into thinking someone was rotten when they weren’t (nicely done Jacquie, you hooked me).

I cannot wait for her next installment, hopefully (dare I ask) with Sean’s character (hint, hint, wink, wink, nudge, nudge) – Ms Johnson dangled just enough information about him and his past to make me wait patiently for his story….please?
