The interplay between Willow and Nick along with their history made their reconnection that much sweeter and that much hotter. ~ Slick, Guilty Pleasures

18282682Description:
He’ll play dirty to get what he wants… Willow Cavanaugh would be happy if she never saw cocky football star Nick Hamilton again. Sure, their fling was the hottest she’d had, but he’s way too much of a playboy to settle down with one woman. Plus, she’s got her heart set on a piece of real estate for her catering business—and Nick owns that property. Nick may be at the top of his game, but all he wants is a second chance with Willow. When he offers to sell her his commercial space if she agrees to a series of dates with him, their chemistry is so scintillating that jumping back into bed seems like an inevitability. But Willow’s decided all’s fair in sex and blackmail. Little does she know, Nick’s playing to win…and she’s the prize.

I reviewed Game For Marriage when it released and wrote, “There is obviously some history atruegemawardbetween them that Willow can’t get past and Nick is trying to change her mind. I’m so hoping we’ll see them soon, because for what little time they spent together the chemistry is there and their story is bound to be scorching!” I do so love when I’m right and boy was I! Game For Trouble is Nick and Willow’s story and these two burn up the sheets and every other surface they can find but this story is more than that, these two do have a history and it’s not all pretty or easy to overcome.

Willow Cavanaugh is a tough cookie; brought up in the lap of luxury she’s determined to make her fledgling business a success without the help of her father. The only thing standing in her way of getting the business space she needs is Nick Hamilton.

Nick can’t believe his luck when he finds out Willow wants to rent some retail space in one of the buildings he owns. While he knows what he’s asking of her isn’t exactly right, he has no problem doing it if it means making Willow see that he’s changed and he’s serious about her.

I can’t help but enjoy the verbal sparring these two do, talk about some awesome foreplay! Of course when they finally do succumb they fall right back into the supreme sexiness they experienced six years earlier. OMG, hose me down now!

Watching Nick try to figure out how to win Willow over and opening himself up to her was entertaining and emotional. I really felt that he was in it to win her over and win her heart. Willow baffled me with her mixed signals so I can only imagine how Nick felt. I understand her confusion with their situation and her jumbled feelings but there were times when I want to yell at her to give him a break especially when she wouldn’t listen to why he left her before.

While I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the first one in this series it was still a fantastic read. The interplay between Willow and Nick along with their history made their reconnection that much sweeter and that much hotter. Karen Erickson continues to write flat out wonderfully romantic and sinfully sexy stories and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!
