Dorothy Kelley is a born romantic, searching for her prince. Instead she finds herself pregnant at fifteen, and a in a loveless marriage by the tender age of eighteen.

Then hope comes riding into her life on a motorcycle and within weeks, Jason “Jase” Brady, a member of the Hell’s Horsemen motorcycle club, sweeps Dorothy off her feet.

But nothing is ever simple for Dorothy. Jase is married with children. And as Dorothy patiently waits for Jase to give her the happily-ever-after she’s been dreaming about, James “Hawk” Young, a member of the Hell’s Horsemen with secrets of his own, sees an opening into Dorothy’s life and takes it.

Carrying on two secret affairs is no easy feat. As Dorothy tries to dig herself out of the mess she’s created, covering one mistake with another, tragedy strikes, nearly costing Dorothy her life and that of her unborn son.

What follows is a long and painful journey of self-discovery and forgiveness, as Dorothy comes to realize that home was exactly where she’d left it, and the love she’d forever craved had always been within her reach.

This is the story of Dorothy, Jase, and Hawk.

We are all born pure; it is our journey that burdens us and leads us astray. Our mistakes that beat us down and cover us in guilt and shame, burying us a little more with each passing hardship. It is up to us to dig ourselves out, to come to terms with our faults, to embrace not only our imperfections but those of the ones we love, and to once again find the path we strayed from.

Warning: This is not a conventional or predictable love story. It involves one woman and two men bound by a love so destructive it spans two decades, pitting brother against brother, and shattering the lives of those touched by it.

WOW!!! I’m spent. I’ve been gutted, I’ve been hopeful and I’ve laughed…..Yep. I am still trying to come to grips with everything that happens in UnBeloved.

In typical glorious Madeline Sheehan style, you can expect the unexpected in UnBeloved.  She totally blew away my preconceived notions about how the tragic love triangle between Jase, Dorothy and Hawk would play out.

UnBeloved isn’t your typcial romance, UnBeloved is about the sins of three peoples’ past and how they haunt them, how those sins set forth a destructive path in each of their lives, crushing everyone in it’s path including their families and children.

UnBeloved is not an easy book by any means to read, it’s a beautifully, tragic, wicked tale about pain, desire, love, selfishness, regret, family, and the road to redemption. It’s a book that encompasses so much tragedy and heartbreak you just don’t know how anyone is going to come out happy. Madeline Sheehan creates emotions so strong, characters so vivid they seem real, scenes so intense, so heartbreaking yet some are absolutely beautiful that you have hope.  Hope that even though you have made mistakes, you can recover from them.  Hope that in the darkest of times you can pull yourself out of it. Hope that even the most broken soul can be mended back together.  Hope that true love is worth fighting for, you just have to stick to it  and take the bad with the good.

There are a number of shocking, unexpected revelations and tragic moments.  Be prepared to cry, scream and shake your head in disbelief.

To sum it up, UnBeloved is an ugly, tragic, emotional, beautiful tale of redemption, comeuppance and people rising from the ashes and finally finding happiness.

And the Epilogue….WOW!!!!  I have a feeling something wicked this way comes in the future….Yep the Epilogue will have you stunned and picking your chin up from the floor.
