I’m really excited to have Erin Nicholas with me today! Erin is one of those author’s who is an automatic buy for me. Slick: I’m really excited about your new Sapphire Falls series; can you tell our readers what they can expect from it; how many books and their release dates?
Erin: Oh, me too!! Sapphire Falls is a fictional town (based on a town I grew up loving) that is beloved by everyone who lives there. It’s quirky and quaint. They make their livings farming for the most part and home and family is very important to everyone there. But small town life is a culture all its own and J in each book you find someone from Sapphire Falls who loves and is devoted to the town and someone who is just visiting… and doesn’t really fit in. But they can’t help but get sucked in by the town and its people and, of course, end up in love… with all of it J
Book one, Getting Out of Hand comes out first as a part of an exciting, fun boxed set called Love, Laughter and Happily Ever Afters, with books from seven other amazing contemporary writers. That release is June 24th. We’ll then release it on its own on August 1st when the boxed set ends. Oh, and the boxed set will only be .99! Can’t wait to get ALL of these awesome books into readers’ hands!
Book two, Getting Worked Up, comes out July 17th
Book three, Getting Dirty, comes out August 21st.
Slick: Your series have always centered around families and friends, what draws you to writing this type of series?
Erin: My friends and family! I have such an amazing, supportive group of people in my life and for me; it just feels so natural to write those relationships for my characters too.
Slick: This series is your first foray into the self publishing world which has to be very exciting, what made you decide to try that with this series?
Erin: A few things just came together at the same time—the books were done, they are all set in the summer and I thought it would be fun to make it a series released over the summer and I really wanted to get them out faster than my publisher was able. It also gives me a chance to do fun things like be a part of this boxed set and do some special sale pricing and things that I’m not able to control with my other books. I’m excited to experience this new world and get Sapphire Falls out there! J
Slick: While we are on that subject, I love the covers of these books they are very eye catching with the sapphire blue accents. Who designed them for you?
Erin: Thank you! I actually had a lot to do with these covers. I chose the photos and the color scheme and stuff and then my friend, the fabulous Violet Duke, did the actual design. I’m so happy with them!
Slick: What is your favorite thing about this series?
Erin: Getting to tell a series of stories that could happen in my backyard. I’m a Midwestern girl, born and raised. I’ve spent my whole life in small towns, married a country boy and love everything about Sapphire Falls and all the towns like it.
Slick: What’s on the horizon for you after the Sapphire Series?
Erin: I’m *very* excited to be re-releasing my very first book, No Matter What this fall! This is the 5th anniversary of that book’s publication so we’ve done some editing, added a little bit here and there and are giving it a new cover. THEN, there will also be two more books to follow that will make it into a fun little series. I can’t wait!

Slick: If you had one month to do anything you wanted and cost was no object, what would you do and with whom?
Erin: I’m so lucky in this way… I really get to do what I want every day—write and hang out with my kids and husband and friends and family. BUT, if I need to be more specific… I would move all of those people… and my long distance friends… to Italy so I could write and hang out with them there. And drink wine. And eat.
Slick: Last question…Erin what is your Guilty Pleasure?
Erin: Coffee. With lots of cream, sugar and other goodies in it!
