This book packs a punch with some pretty big revelations, a hero who takes his time, a heroine who drives him crazy, and a love that spans way longer than either of them wants to admit; it is sensual and sweet yet hot and sexy. ~ Slick, Guilty Pleasures

His goal is to stand firm

As the middle child in a big family, Len Thompson has found it easy to slip under the radar. His relationships outside the family-run garage tend to run a mile wide but only an inch deep as he keeps his heart, body and soul protected. But when the one woman he’s always wanted makes it known she’ll soon be leaving town, he can’t resist letting her into his carefully constructed fortress.

Her gift is rocking his world

Chasing her best friend’s big brother has both entertained and frustrated Janey for years. She’s not sure what triggered his change of heart, but hell, yeah, she’ll accept it. All of it. Every kiss, every touch, every bit of body-shaking pleasure. Working to meet her renovation deadline is suddenly not nearly as interesting as the mind-blowing escapades she’s enjoying with the big sexy mechanic.

When old fears threaten, Len must finally choose—face his past or let their future crumble.

The latest release in Vivian Arend’s Thompson & Sons series, One Sexy Ride, takes on a more serious feel than its predecessor but it was still a very good story. Len Thompson, middle son and the quiet one has always managed to keep a low profile even around his little sister’s best friend and the woman he’s wanted forever, Janey Watson, until one night changes everything for him. This book packs a punch with some pretty big revelations, a hero who takes his time, a heroine who drives him crazy, and a love that spans way longer than either of them wants to admit; it is sensual and sweet yet hot and sexy.

It was easy to fall for Len because he’s one of those guys that exhibit a quiet strength. He observes, he listens, and he protects. So when he sees Janey in a situation that doesn’t seem safe and acting out of character, he intervenes not knowing how that one night will change his life forever.
Once Len made up his mind that he could be with Janey he went full force and it really made her head spin. Janey was never quiet about her interest in Len so his rapid about face confused her but she wanted to be with him and so she didn’t question it very much. I liked these two together and it was an interesting combination. I loved that Len was comfortable enough with Janey that he could share some very private things with her, things he hadn’t shared with anyone in the past. Janey accepted all parts of Len although his lack of talking did make her crazy more than once. Despite knowing each other forever and their relationship looking seamless, some big assumptions and no talk led to some even bigger misunderstandings and a whole lot of heartache.

I really enjoyed this book; these two had a pretty deep connection and once Len finally opened up about everything so many things became clearer. Most of all I loved that his family was there to help him when he finally realized what he’d lost.

One Sexy Ride is another fine offering from Vivian Arend and with each book in this series I become more enamored with the Thompson family. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for the last two brothers and is it too much to hope that maybe their Dad might find love again?
