Solid follow up to Rule’s Obsessions. ~ Ashley, Guilty Pleasures

22015536 (1)Description:
When Courtney Powell is orphaned at seventeen, she loses everything: her parents, her friends, the basic security she’s always known. Drowning under debilitating sorrow, she moves to St. Louis to live with her newly widowed godmother. From the beginning, the woman’s grown children accept her into their family . . . but there’s something about the middle brother that causes an inexplicable wariness within her.

Time goes by as Courtney struggles to overcome her grief. When she finally emerges some years later, it becomes apparent that somewhere along the way, without her input and much to her anxiety, she’s become Nick Rule’s exclusive property.

I am a huge fan of Lynda Chance! She is the queen of the quick hot read.

Rule’s Property is the second in the series of the three Rule brothers. Book 1 followed the oldest brother and Book 2 is about the middle brother Nick.

Courtney has lived with the Rule family every since her parents died when she was 18 years old. The death of her parents combined with the fact that she is an only child left Courtney with deep scars. (I am an only child so I totally get!)
Nick has always had feelings for Courtney but the time was never right but he watched over her for 6 years when she went away for college and now she is back in his life.

I liked the Nick was confident in what he wanted from Courtney. He loved her and let her know it. She got on my nerves with her protests about why they couldn’t be together. It was a short book so her indecisiveness got old very fast.
Overall, a good Lynda Chance book but I would like to see her write longer books in the future.
