Coming out of rehab and getting clean, Nadia and a friend open a bakery, Sugar and Spice. 
Throwing herself (with her friends which are also substance abuse survivors) into keeping clean and making her life-long dream of having a successful bakery, has consumed the majority of Nadia’s life (leaving none for the social aspect). Until along comes Professor Kane Sullivan. Coming into the shop, having a bad day, he walks up and Nadia tells him to go sit, she will take care of it. Bringing him a sticky bun and matcha tea latte, just being the considerate person that Nadia is, strikes a chord in Professor Kane that cannot be ignored.
Coming in daily, for his usual, Nadia’s group of friends realize that there is something special about Professor Kane. Upon finding he is a professor of human sexuality, AND finding his nickname is Professor Sex, they launch an initiative to reintroduce Nadia into herself and her own sexuality. The two together are on fire. They are both so sexually sparked that they complete each other. Nothing is off limits, and they soon find, this includes their hearts. From being introduced, rather quickly, to Nadia’s fathers and friends, Kane becomes a staple in Nadia’s life. This, however, is a stability Nadia needs, no matter how scared the two are of this. They not only crave each other, they find they need each other.
This novel is a must read. Through all the different scenarios depicted, the reader being able to envision everything that is being described with every erotic detail, can’t wait for the next scene. The intimacy is not the only good thing going on between Nadia and Kane, and delving into their lives, seeing them finally realizing that hearts intertwining isn’t as bad as everyone though, makes this a book I didn’t want to put down.
