I really love when an author can step outside of what is “the norm” of a series and in Playing With Seduction author Erika Wilde does just that. While her characters spend one memorable night at The Players Club the rest of the book takes place away from the club and even though they still explore a bit of kink that isn’t the focus in this book. That’s not to say this book isn’t as sexy as the others because it absolutely is and just because the hero is almost a decade younger than the heroine he proves he’s up to the task of taking care of all of her needs.

Boudoir photographer Kendall Shaw has some emotional baggage and despite her attraction to security specialist and part-time model Jase Burns she repeatedly turns down his requests for a date which leads him to get very creative. I love the way Jase pursued Kendall and the way he got her to open up about her past and her hang-up with their age difference. While she was adamant about them having a fling, Jase was out to prove he was worthy of more of her time.
Watching Kendall discover her sexuality fully and become comfortable enough to not only share her fantasies with Jase, but also learn to ask for what she wanted was a thing of beauty and Jase had no problem giving her everything she wanted and needed sexually.
Their relationship had some very real growing pains given their age difference and backgrounds and I’ll admit it was a little difficult seeing two people who obviously cared so much about each other struggle with the decision of what they each wanted and where they were headed.

“A double chocolate fudge cake,” Jase said, and shook his head. “You don’t mess around with your desserts, do you?”
“Nope.” Kendall’s expression softened, and her gaze turned serious. “I think I’m beginning to realize that life is too short, and you just need to go for it sometimes and indulge.”
He got the distinct impression that she was referring to more than just the dessert. Which brought his thoughts back around to the man she’d just ended things with, and what it meant for the two of them.
“Why did you come back in here?” he asked.
She crossed one leg over the other and gave him a resigned smile. “I came back in here to tell you that you won.”
He frowned, not sure what to make of that. “What have I won?”
“This. Us.” She waved a hand between them, then absently worried her bottom lip. “Obviously, that one night with you at The Players Club wasn’t enough for me. I still want you, and it’s interfering with my ability to focus on any other man.”
He managed not to grin like a fool at her confession, yet he needed a more specific explanation from her. “So, what are you saying, exactly?”
She tapped her fingers anxiously on the bar top. “I’m saying…let’s get this crazy attraction we have for one another out of our systems, so we can each go our separate ways and move on with our normal lives.”
Ahhh, so those walls of hers weren’t gone, after all. She was merely lowering them for a fling, while separating anything emotional from what she wanted from him physically. Basically, she was suggesting an affair, a friends-with-benefits kind of situation that was casual and discreet and wouldn’t involve any kind of complicated feelings. She was offering him a man’s ultimate dream scenario—sex without commitment.
That might work for some guys but not for him. Jase wanted more from her. Hell, he might even want it all. The revelation was huge, but he didn’t fight it.
He placed his hand over hers, stopping her nervous fidgeting. “So, you want to use me for sex?” he teased.
Her face flushed, contradicting the naughty smile on her lips. “I think it would be a mutually satisfying proposition. But I wouldn’t want you to do anything you didn’t want to.”
No, it certainly wouldn’t be a hardship to have Kendall naked and moaning beneath him. There wasn’t anything he didn’t want to do to her and with her. And if this fling was all he could have of her right now, then he’d take it. He wasn’t ready to let her go, and he sure as hell didn’t want her finding another man to scratch that itch. He’d figure out everything else later. Hopefully she’d come to realize that kind of empty affair wasn’t enough. He planned to do everything in his power to help her come to that conclusion.
He gently turned her hand over and stroked his fingers along her palm, watching the rise and fall of her chest as he touched her. “I think I can handle being a sex object for you.”
“I want…” Her voice was suddenly low and raspy, her fingers starting their twitching again. “I want more of what we did at The Players Club.” She hesitated once more, met his gaze, then spoke. “This is hard for me, but I’m going to be honest. Sex wasn’t all that great in my marriage. I thought it was because we were both so busy, with me working two jobs, and his schooling and internship. It was all very vanilla, mostly missionary, and nothing out of the ordinary or even adventurous.”
“No passion,” he murmured.
“No, no, passion,” she agreed with a small shake of her head. “And I was fine with that because it was really all I knew.” More quietly, she added, “And because I didn’t know what I was missing until that night with you at the club. Now I want more of that.”
He quickly glanced around the bar area to make sure they were alone, that nobody could overhear their conversation, before he asked, “More of what, exactly?”
“Being taken. Restrained. Spanked,” she said in a hushed tone, even as the pulse at the base of her neck began a rapid beat. “I want to be pushed beyond conventional sexual boundaries. I want to be fucked hard. I like it when you’re aggressive and demanding. When you pull my hair and make me do naughty, wicked things.”
Holy shit. He couldn’t stop staring at her mouth, couldn’t stop thinking about all those naughty, wicked things he could make her do with it. Stroke. Lick. Suck. His cock twitched, hardened, totally on board with every filthy fantasy that drifted through his mind.

Erika Wilde (aka Janelle Denison) is the USA Today bestselling author of over 50 contemporary romances for multiple print publishers.
So, why the new pen name?
As Janelle Denison I’ve always written sexy books, but lately my writing has taken on more erotic elements that I wanted to keep separate for readers because not everyone likes their reading material on the spicier, kinkier side of romance. However, please be assured that even as Erika Wilde, you will still get an emotionally layered story with characters you’ll care about and fall in love with. That is always my goal, whether I’m writing straight contemporary romances, or more erotically charged stories.
Currently, I’m working on The Marriage Diaries and making sure that Dean and Jillian enjoy exploring the more erotic side to their marriage. The series will be on-going, with no foreseeable ending as of right now, for as long as readers want to be voyeurs to Dean and Jillian’s sizzling new relationship.

cant wait to read..congrats
