ARC Review – Unforgettable (Always #2) by Cherie M. Hudson

Cherie M. Hudson tore me apart with this wonderfully told, heart-warming and heart-breaking story. All the characters were well thought out, interesting and vital parts to all aspects in this story. She wove a tale of love lost and found again … of betrayal and forgiveness. She gave us a story showing just how powerful love and hope are. ~ Kitty, Guilty Pleasures

My name is Brendon Osmond. I’m a 25 year old post-graduate student who knows three things with absolute conviction. I know damn near everything there is to know about keeping in peak physical shape. I have a plan to make a lot of money from that knowledge. I’m an optimist who’s not easily rattled. But then the girl I fell in love with almost two years ago texts me out of the blue and everything I know is thrown out the window.

Am I rattled?

No.

Not until I fly to the other side of the world and discover the girl I fell for has kept a very big secret from me.

A secret that mocks all my knowledge of the human body and how to keep it healthy.

A secret that shatters my plans for my own personal training business.

A secret with my eyes.

A secret who needs me more than I can comprehend.

Ask me again if I’m rattled.

Now ask me if I’m still in love.

Perfect for fans of The Fault in Our Stars and Nicholas Sparks, Unforgettable is the second book in the Always series that began with Unconditional.

I agreed to review Unforgettable because I absolutely loved Brendon in Unconditional. He was purestdelightawardfun, smart, an eternal optimist and hot as hell. He set his mind to something and went after it. He didn’t let anything or anyone stand his way. It took a lot to rattle him and a lot to make him lose his temper. Well, Unforgettable started off that way and then it blew me away. It threw me a curve that was totally unexpected. It broke my heart, stopped my heart and then started it again. Through it all, I sat and turned page after page waiting and hoping that all would turn out right, that Brendon and Amanda would find a way to make it work, face their feelings, find the love that brought him across the world with one text.

I am going to be brutally honest here. I started crying in about the 3rd or 4th chapter and didn’t stop. I couldn’t put the book down. I had to see where this was going. I had to finish and see if there was going to be a happily-ever-after in the way that I hoped there was. I wasn’t let down but it took a whole lot to get there. And, emotionally, I was drained. A total wrung-out mess. Even with the ending.

There is no way I am going to do a total synopsis of this story. It’s too powerful, too compelling to try to even do it justice. We see different sides of Brendon. We meet and see all different sides of Amanda. We meet Tanner. We fall in love with Tanner. We cry our hearts out over Tanner. Then we cry those happy tears and breathe a sigh of relief. Raph and Maci try to come to Brendon’s aide but it’s an unexpected visit from Caden that saves the day. Through it all, Aunty Chase and an amazing and quirky doctor made us smile, held everything and everybody together and brought humor to a very serious situation. As for Amanda’s father … we just won’t go there. How Jacqui could be married to such a pompous jerk is beyond me.

Unforgettable will definitely be on my “best of” list for 2015. I absolutely loved this book and was in awe that Cherie M. Hudson brought to life such an emotionally charged, impressive story that portrayed every emotion that brought me to my knees and then had me yelling “Hip hip hooray”.
Yes, everything is gravy.
