Breaking through barriers can be the hardest thing in life….But for happiness, it’s always worth a try! ~ Rosalie, Guilty Pleasures
I have a new name in a new city.Tye and I agreed to be friends only. Now he sleeps in my bed every night, holding me close, protectively. After everything that I’ve been through, I’m not sure that I can handle more, besides he isn’t a relationship kind of guy. I’m not even sure why he’s here with me.I saw Billie and wanted her immediately. I know that she has secrets but getting to know her is like unwrapping a gift, slower is better. Her scars run deep and every day is a struggle. I want to help her, to protect her from those that want to hurt her. I tell myself that’s why I’m holding her every night. We’re just friends… It’s for the Best that way.Isn’t it?

Tye is one of the most prestigious lawyers in town and makes bank because of that. But after all his bachelor days, he’s ready to settle down and start a family. However, no one really wants to believe he’s turned over this “adult leaf”; especially not his every night partner, Holly. When he mentions to her he wants to go serious, she immediately cuts everything off and wants to move outta Dodge. Trying to deal with the pain becomes a lot easier when he meets the drop dead gorgeous Billie
Both Billie and Tye have had lives that haven’t really been horrible. Both are gorgeous and have pretty well off jobs (with Billie being a librarian and wanting to go into library law). I loved how Ms. Jayne slid Billie seamlessly into Tye’s life, but it wasn’t unrealistic. These two, deep down, need each other for so many reasons, and I loved watching the journey through it all!!

***Alert- I grew up in a home where we played records of Broadway Soundtracks. (When you meet me ask me to do “One” from A Chorus Line) I then went onto to be a competitive ballroom dancer so Frank Sinatra and I are well acquainted. My I-tunes account is filled with a list of very varied songs.
- “You Don’t Own Me” by Dusty Springfield. That voice. She can convey strength and pain at the same time. Plus she was born too early and was/is an unsung Hero.
- “Rise Up” by Andra Day. I’m obsessed with her look and her sexy purring voice.
- “Without Me” by Eminem. This song always pumps me up. I dance in my seat when I hear it-which has embarrassed me numerous times.
- “Better Man” by Pearl Jam. This band helps me write.
- “Falling Slowly” by the Broadway Cast of Once. The rhythm hypnotizes me and comforts.
- “I Want to Know What Love Is” by Foreigner. Always brings back memories of romantic slow dances and late night beer-fueled, tear-filled talks with good friends.
- “Stay” by Jeffery Austin from The Voice. I’ve watched the show twice. I heard this singer/song and downloaded it immediately.
- “In the End” by Linkin Park. This might be “the song of my life.” I love it always have and always will.
- “Million Years Ago” by Adele. I cried the first time I heard this song. The words crush me.
10.“I Can’t Make You Love Me” by Adele Live Version. I worship Adele. I write, drive, dress, and mow to her music. She is young and yet so old. I think we could have a blast over a few drinks and a few tales. In my head- we are friends.
