I was a bit skeptical of this book. The synopsis is a little vague but I enjoyed my time with Nash, Caroline and their love story. ~ Paige Turner – Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

Blurb

Around my neck lies
a wedding ring.

In my right hand I hold a hotel room key.

Which one do I pick?

The marriage? The key?

Everything is not as it seems in room one-forty-three

*This isn’t a cheating book!*

Laramine Briscoe does a great job bringing an emotionally broken character back to the living. Both main characters were well written and likeable. I feel like this book could have gone wrong with miscues and unnecessary misunderstandings but they handled issues like adults.

Nash had found love once but unfortunately the life as he knew it was torn apart. He has his family, friends and his business to keep him occupied and moving forward dailey. His family shakes things up and offers him an escape for just one night. Nash faced the challenge head on and decided to let go of reality of the night.

Caroline has her own issues but knew she was done with corporate America. She needs to slow down and thinks small town living is for her. I love my friends but would definitely draw the line if they asked me to work for them especially if they worked as an escort. It’s a good thing that Caroline is such a sweetheart and willing to help her friend.

Nash and Caroline complemented each other and worked together perfectly. I liked that she challenged him. She was also willing to wait for him and made sure he comfortable in their relationship. I’m thankful the author didn’t fill this book angst and drama just for the sake of it.

I did have issues with the secondary a storyline. It may be a set up for a future book but I didn’t understand how her friend Taylor knew his brother and their relationship. This was a small town and I would have assumed that Taylor knew Nash and vice versa.

Despite this minor hang up, I enjoyed the book and characters!
