Leigh recommends ~ The Pucked by Helena Hunting
The Pucked series is an absolutely hilarious ride through the Chicago NHL team, complete with beavers, yetis, and way too many references to balls for a hockey series! Pucked focuses on the profession and personal lives of a group of men and women, with each book reserved for a different couple, but all of the characters weaving their way in and out of each story. Each Pucked series book runs the gamut from the serious to the totally insane, and as a whole, was completely enjoyable to read. These characters got stuck in my head and became real to me, and once I was done, I missed them immensely.
The entire Pucked series is now on KU and you can grab the first book PUCKED here.
Rosalie Belle recommends ~ The Fantastical Daddy Doms collection by Allysa Hart and Rayanna Jamieson
The Fantastical Daddy Dom series gives me everything I could ever want in a book; angst, happily ever after, and a Daddy in every book that takes care of their “little girl.” The duo that writes this series, write so fluidly; it’s as if there is one mind; you want tell where one write ends and another begins. This duo will always please, and it is my go to!
The Fantastical Daddy Doms boxed set can be found HERE.
Afrodyt recommends ~ Sinners of Saint series by L.J. Shen
Anti-hero stories with loads of angst and bad behavior. Somehow the author redeems these people and creates fulfilling relationships out of some of the rockiest beginnings. Riveting, head shaking, jaw dropping plots in each story.
You can find Vicious the first book in the Sinners of Saint series here.
Java Girl recommends ~ Him, Us, and Top Secret by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy
For fans of m/m or new readers of the sub-genre, you can’t go wrong with Him, Us, and Top Secret. Romantic, sweet, funny, emotional, and sexy with a touch of dram, these three books are some of my favorites.
You can grab Him here.
Slick recommends ~ Lost In Oblivion by Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott
I’ve been reading this writing duo since before they were a duo. When Seduced (the prequel to the series) first came out people were losing their minds at the “cliffhanger” ending. Guys I HATE cliffhangers with a passion, to me the ending of this book let me know it was the start of something big. I have been through this series with these writers, I have waited patiently (and sometimes not so patiently) for each book and I have never once been disappointed. This band, these characters are such a part of my life and I am so thankful I stumbled across Cari Quinn so many, many years ago and she in turn introduced me to the writing of Taryn Elliott. This is a rock star romance but it is so much more, these are people who have clawed their way up, their lives are changed dramatically, and things go awry often as things to in the rock and roll lifestyle, but these authors put these characters back together, they find love, they build families of their own all while being part of this big loving Oblivion family. I can’t recommend this series enough or the Found In Oblivion series or The Booklyn Dawn series or if you aren’t a lover of rock romances, try their small town, contemporary offering The Crescent Cove series (all on KU).
Seduced the prequel to the Lost in Oblivion series can be found here.
Paige Turner recommends ~ The Whisper Lake series by Melanie Shawn
The Whisper Lake series by Melanie Shawn brings the magic of romance to the small town of Whisper Lake. The books in this series made me cry one minute, laugh the next, and had enough drama to keep each couple’s book interesting. Each books focuses on a different couple, but have a common thread of strong, feisty women and the men who love them.
You can find the Whisper Lake Series boxed set here.
Didi recommends ~ Filthy Marcellos
The Filthy Marcellos Series is by new to me author Bethany Kris. The series is about a mafia family, the heroes are actually anti-heroes and they are not afraid to straight up say they are bad men. While the men are definitely bad, when it comes to their family and the women they end up falling in love with they are 100% dedicated and protective. The books are all nicely paced; they have plenty of appearances by all the family members in each book. One thing I love about the books is while they are just a little dark, but not disturbingly so, they show the relationships between all members of the family, the bond the family has and the relationships of each of the couples. One note, if you have decided to stay away from recent mafia books because they are too dark, you might want to try these, they were all published in 2015 which is before some dark books started getting to where, in my personal opinion, it seems the author is putting in gratuitous violence to try to see how much they could shock the reader.
I have spent the last few days binge reading this series and have found it hard to put down for work or sleep! I’ve loved being immersed in the Marcello family and cannot wait to read more by Bethany Kris!
You can find The Filthy Marcellos – The Complete Collection here.
ONE LAST RECOMMENDATION ~ The Miles Family series by Claire Kingsley
As you can tell from our list above we all have pretty different reading tastes, but Claire Kingsley captured a lot of us with the Miles Family series. Check out what we have to say about this special family.
Didi ~ I loved everything about it, the length of the series is perfect, just enough books to keep my love of series satisfied but not so many that I can’t remember all that happened in the 1st book. The bonus epilogues were a great treat.
Java Girl ~ I was delighted, and a little surprised by this series. I read the entire series this past week. I was sleep deprived, but it was so worth it.
Slick ~ I’ve spent the last 2 1/2 days with the Miles Family…guys this is another one of those family series that tugs at the heartstrings, but gives you so much joy and hope. There’s a little bit of everything; a second chance romance, best friend’s little sister, a one night stand that turns into more, an online friendship that becomes a real life relationship, and an unrequited seasoned romance novella. Seriously guys, I don’t like wine and I want to move to this winery and be friends with these people! Go forth and enjoy (I know I did)!
Afrodyt ~ You know what Claire Kingsley does so well in this series? She releases the tension at the perfect times. She doesn’t leave the reader on edge for so long that I become frustrated or overly angsty. The heroes are truthful with their emotions and willing to say them out loud rather than keep them bottled up. It works because it keeps the narrative moving, the relationship building, and the gratification sweeter whenever the tension is finally released. Her game is so tight! I am hooked! Claire is my star author right now.
Paige Turner ~ I’ve been binge reading this series and you guys are going to have to fight me for Cooper! I love this guy!
