Hope you didn’t think we forgot about our Black Dagger Brotherhood Reviews. We took a little break but we are back and ready to start the fun again. The third book in the series is a fan favorite and the main character is a chart topper in every poll I’ve ever seen. Seems everybody loves Zsadist. In my opinion, this is the best LOVE story in the series and I cry every time I read it. Our friend Sophie is our guest reviewer for this one. ENJOY EVERYONE!

Book Description:

A former blood slave, the vampire Zsadist still bears the scars from a past filled with suffering and humiliation. Renowned for his unquenchable fury and sinister deeds, he is a savage feared by humans and vampires alike. Anger is his only companion, and terror is his only passion—until he
rescues a beautiful aristocrat from the evil Lessening Society.

Bella is instantly entranced by the seething power Zsadist possesses. But even as their desire for one another begins to overtake them both, Zsadist’s thirst for vengeance against Bella’s tormentors drives him to the brink of madness. Now, Bella must help her lover overcome the wounds of his tortured past, and find a future with her

Sophie’s Review:
I remember it was Sunday November 14, 2010 and I honestly didn’t want to start this book because I knew I would love it too much to want to let it go. And how right I was! It was him, Zsadist, the one and only vampire after everybody’s heart who definitely stole mine.

I sat down on my bed while everybody at home was doing normal Sunday stuff, and I read, and read, and kept on reading. One thing I absolutely LOVED since the beginning when Zsadist realizes he feels certain attraction towards Bella, was the way he tried always to keep things simple. See, Z is not your average vampire with the sole purpose of fighting to save humanity, you learn thru the whole book, that even those who seem to be complete and strong, could be broken inside, and that is exactly what Zsadist was, a broken soul, with no hope in front of him until he meets his match, a strong willed woman (female vampire) named Bella. Bella is not a delicate flower, nor will she give up until she wins Z’s attention (and affection). And the thrill of the moment is interrupted as a band of bad guys (Lessers) appear and kidnap her. One in particular as he become obsessed with her and Z does everything in his means to find her, even though he doesn’t want to show to the rest of his brothers that what he really fears is to lose a piece of his heart if she never comes back.
I try to see this story from every possible angle and I end up in the same point. This is a LOVE story pure and simple. However, it contains all the necessary elements to make it a GREAT love story. Z is the hero you want to see in every man. A troubled man capable of rising from the ashes like a Phoenix, and a beautiful and strong willed woman who overcomes the rejection of this man and a kidnap only to discover that even these circumstances didn’t dissolve her feelings toward him.

If you are looking for action, this book has it. If you are looking for (what I call) urban humor, it also has it. If you are looking for a TRUE LOVE story, this is a MUST in your reading. You will need to start with Lover Eternal to understand some of the elements of Lover Awakened; however you can perfectly skip it and find this delightful as well. It took me 14 hours to finish, and I honestly don’t regret any minute invested in reading it.
