I love the holidays, our Thanksgiving here in Canada was on Oct.10.

I love the family time, and of course my kids reactions, not so much for Thanksgiving, but for Halloween, and Christmas they get really excited about it. Of course the holidays are all about them, and I look forward to it because of that. My children are my world and there’s no greater feeling than to see them happy and smiling. I’m sure any parent feels the same way though. So, as a part of my contribution I’m going to share a “no bake cheese cake recipe”. It was my mother’s recipe and it was one of the few she rarely shared with anyone. She passed away when I was quite young and I like to do things or, make things that remind me of her sometimes especially around the holidays.

Since the holidays are all about baking I figured I share an easy recipe, a delicious dessert, and something that doesn’t require a hot oven so it won’t interrupt your turkey cooking time.

Who doesn’t love cheese cake, right?

Here goes:

Ingredients:

* 1 pk. of Dream Whip
* 2 Philadelphia cream cheese blocks
* 1 cup of icing sugar

* 1 can of cherry pie filling
* Graham cracker crumbs

Preparation:

* Do Dream Whip, break up cream cheese into small pieces, add icing sugar and mix well.
* Cover 9″ pie plate with graham cracker crumbs (Or, buy a graham cracker crumb pie crust already made if that’s easier for you *winks*)
* Pour contents over graham cracker pie crust and chill overnight in the fridge. Add cherry pie filling, or whatever topping you’d like when you’re ready to serve.

Easy, peasy, that’s it, enjoy! I promise this will be a recipe you’ll want to keep. It’s soooo good.

  1. That’s for the cheesecake recipe. I use to have one similar and lost it. So, now I have a new simple one!

I love having the family at the holidays. And I’m shocked because even though my kids are all grown, they pretty much like hanging out at the holidays too. Of course, now we have lots of grandkids to add to the mix and chaos reigns. Big holidays has 4 generations at someone’s house. It looks like mine this Christmas IF I finish getting it found under all the clutter. Not sure if we’re down to a small group of 9 or our regular 20+. Head count is necessary this week!

  2. I love Christmastime. I try to get all of my shopping done before my kids get out for the holidays so we can spend those 2 weeks hanging out, making cool crafts and having them mix ingredients for baking.

  3. Thanks for sharing a quick and easy recipe. I must get the ingredients this weekend.

I’m adding Second Chance Love to my wish list.

    Thanks,

  14. I had totally forgotten about that recipe. I used to make it all the time when I worked at a company that had huge food feasts on all the holidays. I always used the premade crusts, because it came with a disposable pan & a lid tall enough to cover the pie filling on top, so I didn’t have to worry about collecting my dish at the end of the feast. I usually took one with cherry on top & one with blueberry.

  17. I really love Christmas and getting to spend time with family and seeing how excited the kids get about everything. It is fun to carry on our traditions from year to year so the kids know what to expect and get to do things that they enjoy each year.
