Whether my husband remembers the date or not, we actually have two anniversaries. Ours was in no way a traditional courtship or marriage ceremony, so I’ve always based our anniversary on the first time we kissed, February 8th. Two days later we had another first I won’t share with you but I’m sure you can use your imagination to figure it out. That, of course, is the date he always remembers. Men.
Another significant date in our history is our first Valentine’s Day together. I honestly don’t remember what he gave me or what we said to each other. I do remember buying him a pair of black silk boxers with red hearts all over them. I put them on under my clothes and told him he had to find his present. We had a really great time. It also marked the beginning of a tradition. Now every year I buy him a pair of boxers for Valentine’s Day. He’s gotten Spongebob, Family Guy and a host of other cartoon characters. He’s received silk, cotton and satin. They’ve come in all different colors, and as the years have passed, sizes. However, he still has the first pair I ever bought him.
We’ll have been together for sixteen years this February and our love is still very strong. I still buy him boxers and he still cherishes me…and insists our anniversary is on the tenth.

Hi. My name is Mari. I’m of average height, average weight, average looks and I hold an average position at Hardy’s All Goods, my personal version of retail hell. To sum up, I’m nothing special. So why has Devon Campbell, the city’s Most Eligible Bachelor-and my unrequited high-school crush-suddenly crashed back into my life, claiming I’m the one who got away?
Devon can’t possibly want to keep me for the long haul, right? My screwed-up past is enough to make anyone run screaming in the opposite direction. Still, he’s determined I give him a chance . . . and I’d be crazy to turn down his offer of a two-week trial

That’s so romantic that your husband still has the first pair of boxers that you gave him. I always gave my husband a Valentines t-shirt every year. At least your husband remembers what he believes is your anniversary date. That’s better than a lot of men and some women. Two Week Trial sounds like a terrific book. Can’t wait to read it.

Two Week Trial is definately going to be added to my collection. It sounds great!
I love high school crushes that come back in later life. This book sounds great! Count me in.
My husband has every letter/note/scrap of paper that I have ever written him. Two Week Trial sounds excellent. I’m a sucker for high school crushes coming true.

We don’t make a big deal about holidays but he usually helps cook dinner at least half of the week and he is always ready to help around the house as long as it isn’t laundry so I can’t complain. He also doesn’t mind my book addiction.
This book sounds really great! Thank you so much for the giveaway opportunity!

that is so cool that you have such a fun tradition. I wish you an early happy anniversary! Two Week Trial sounds fun. Thanks for the giveaway.
My husband and I just got married 2 yrs ago this last December but have been together for 15 yrs come February. We argued about which anniversary we should celebrate. He says that now that we are married our original anniversary shouldn’t be celebrated. Well I disagree. Feb 3rd was the day of our first kiss and the day we became exclusive. (at the age of 15 I might add) We are still happy as ever and can’t wait to spend our 15th Valentines day together =D
What a great post for Valentine’s season! I love that you have traditions for a holiday that is often about just cards and flowers.
I love this post, my daughter loves to sleep in boxers, so I buy her a pair every holiday =)
Some of my favorite books are HS sweethearts reunited.
Thanks for the post Missy!
I love romantic traditions :).
I still have the card from the very first bunch of flowers my DH sent me for our first valentines a week after we met. Still the best valentines ever.
Missy the kind of love you and your husband share is so rare these days…I hope I find love like that someday!!!
Good for you for making Valentines Day fun…
I can’t remember the last time I was remembered on this day.. But I have been alone along time now, so isn’t really expected..
have fun.. Hope you hubby enjoys this years boxers…
A lovely Valentine tradition – thanks for sharing!
Lucky you that your husband remembers! My husband and I have been married 27 years and I recently found out that he kept all the Valentine cards I’ve given him over the years. He wanted to know if I kept mine. All I could say was “what cards?” He seems to forget that he forgets holidays, birthdays, and anniversaries!
Two Week Trial sounds like a fun read. Can’t wait!
