Dirty Little Secret #42

What book has been sitting in your TBR pile the longest and why haven’t you picked it up yet? Or more importantly, will you ever read it now that its been sitting there for forever?

DiDi – The New Oxford Dictionary. Because it’s in my Kindle Archive, I will never read it, I may need to, but I won’t =)

Alyn Love— Fallen In Love by Lauren Kate. I have read the entire Fallen series and loved it but have been so into what my husband officially calls my “book porn” I simply get bored thinking about a young adult novella compilation right now.
Shadow – You Don’t Know Jack by Erin McCarty. And I can’t tell you why I haven’t picked it up, but I do plan to do so- someday!

KC – I bought the whole Julie Collins series by Lori Armstrong I think in December … Don’t know why I haven’t read it yet. I will one of these days….
Slick – Sad to say, nothing, nada, zilch…if I buy it, I read it almost immediately. The only thing right now I’ve bought and haven’t read is A Perfect Storm and that’s because I had three others I bought this week and just finished the last of those (they were all short reads) and once I’m done with my review for the site, I’ll start on A Perfect Storm.
Angeline – Domme by Default by Tymber Dalton. I bought it and The Reluctant Dom at the same time. It took me over a year to read TRD. Tymber writes such amazing emotion, I’m not ready for it yet. But I will. I love her work.

Kimber – Darkness Unleashed by Alexandra Ivy. I’ve had it for a few years but I couldn’t connect to the series. I’ve often thought about picking them up again.
Asher The Hunger Games and The House of Night series…..Been wanting to read them both for a while now….not sure if I ever will.
Charnel – For Her Pleasure by Maya Banks, I don’t know why I haven’t read it. I might read it one day but it’s been in the TBR pile for over a year.

Amanda– Her Own Best Enemy by Cynthia Justlin. Still haven’t read it but I plan to one day. for some reason or another it gets knocked by down. One day!!

Ava Austin – Full Moon Rising by Keri Arthur – the Riley Jensen books, and Storm Front by Jim Butcher – Dresden Files. I *know* these are good books. I have so many series I really love and follow, I haven’t had that moment where I am ready to tackle a stack of books from one author in a while. That’s me, I have to read them all and in order once I start…. hopefully, I’ll be able squeeze it in eventually, but it’s not looking like anytime soon.

Gennie For some reason Wicked Bad by R.G. Alexander has been in my TBR and one my Kindle for a REALLY long time. I loved the first book in this series and I know I’ll love this one, but every time I start this book, I realize I need to read the first one again to remember what’s going on, and then I don’t. That’s my confession for tonight! Along with the PB M&Ms on LJ MSW blog post

Kitty– Good Christian Bitches…just haven’t had the time for it yet.

Now that you’ve heard from the GP crew, we want to hear from you!

  1. Of everything you girls have “pending” I can only speak for The Hunger Games READ IT IT’S AMAZING!!!! and House of Night, maybe you can pass on it. That’s one of the few series I actually threw in the towel!

  2. Hi Guys,
    DiDi, The Dictionary, seriously????
Alyn Love, Never heard of the book or author but had to laugh because my hubby calls my books “porn” also.LOL
Shadow, Love that book, Love Erin McCarthy.
KC, OMG…That is one of my favorite series.. Martinez <3 <3
I was so happy to see Julie Collins in the Guns and Roses anthology by Murder She Writes!!
Slick, Don’t know what to say to you!! LOL 🙂
Angeline, UGH!! I love Tymber Dalton — TRD was so good but so sad – I couldn’t get that book out of my head for days after. I haven’t read this one either because I can’t take another one like that!! 🙂
Kimber, I have not read that book either.
Asher, I haven’t read Hunger Games and not really sure that I will but I did read The House Of Night Series all except the last two books – not sure if I will read them.

  3. I’ve read the Julie Collins series by Armstrong and it starts a little slow, but it’s a good solid mystery series (DON’T expect the erotic elements from her James’ Rough Rider series). I’ve read the PC Cast series and I think it’s ok but nothing great (my sister agrees) and I usually enjoy everything I read by Erin McCarty and I know I read the one mentioned, but don’t recall the deets.

  4. lol at Didi’s answer. It would be mine too if I didn’t have a bunch of physical books already on my shelf.
And I don’t know how you can read books ASAP. I do not read that fast I guess.

  5. There are so many in mount TBR! Today I finally read Tyler by C.H. Admirand. I am about to start Plain Fear: Forsaken by Leanna Ellis. But the mount remains huge! BTW, I love to read the dictionary. I find it relaxing!

I don’t know which book is the oldest. I do know I have a bunch of trilogies to read and am currently playing catch up on some of my series.

  7. KC- You must read the Julie Collins series. It is one on of my absolute favorites EVER. I love everything Lori / Lorelei writes but the Julie Collins series is at the top of the list right next to the Rough Riders. And Mariann is right by saying Martinez. As in Tony Martinez. I usually prefer my boys to be Alpha do-gooders, but there is something about Tony the bad boy that just does it for me. Read it, you won’t be sorry!

I have the entire Sullivan’s series by Bella Andre sitting in my TBR pile on my nook. Not sure why I haven’t read any of them but I haven’t. I’m hoping to knock them out on vacation this summer.

  8. The Reluctant Dom by Tymber Dalton. I plan on reading when I’m free from all obligations so I can cry until my eyes are puffy if I need to without worrying about going to class the next day with puffy eyes…
