HAPPY St. Patrick’s Day!

“Lucky in love.” My husband and I use that expression a lot. Usually it’s said in conjunction with us losing the lottery or a raffle, but it never fails to make us laugh and realize what’s really important in life. When we’re disappointed we didn’t win those millions and we make that statement, it grounds us, reminds us that it’s not money that makes us happy, it’s the fact we’re together.

Sometimes I think luck (like beauty) is in the eye of the beholder. I may not be the richest, most famous person on earth, but I consider myself one of the luckiest. I’m married to a charming, funny man. I have two healthy, intelligent, kind children. There’s a roof over my head and food on my supper table each night. To me…the greatest luck is having love and a family.

Today is St. Patrick’s Day. This day never fails to remind me of another family–the Collins clan in my Wild Irish series! I thought, in keeping with the theme of luck, love and family, I’d showcase the series with a “lucky” quote from each book.

Come Monday Review

Come Monday – “You are an incredible woman, Keira. Trusting, intelligent, lovely. I can’t tell you how lucky I feel to be sitting here right now.”
“I was sort of thinking the same thing. Not about me,” she added quickly, with a laugh, “but about you. You make me feel things, want to do things I’ve never—”
“Let’s not question it yet. Perhaps we could just go with the flow. See where tonight leads.”

Ruby Tuesday Review

Ruby Tuesday – “For your information, Sky did not leave after one song. He listened to the whole set and then invited me to join him at his table.”
“Shut the fuck up!” Riley yelled, suddenly wide awake. She rushed across the room and jumped beside her on the bed so hard, Teagan nearly bounced off. “No way.”
“Way.” Teagan laughed.
“You lucky bitch. Tell me every gory detail. Don’t leave out a thing.”

Waiting for Wednesday Review

Waiting for Wednesday – Mr. Collins nodded. “He’s a h-hard worker. He’ll make some lucky girl a g-good husband.”
Lane laughed, leaning over to kiss Mr. Collins on the cheek. “You aren’t trying to set me up by any chance, are you?”
Mr. Collins chuckled. “You c-could do worse, my girl.”

Sweet Thursday Review

Sweet Thursday – “How about giving me one of those kisses?” Killian placed his hand on her cheek, pulling her lips to his. Where Justin’s kisses were swift and potent, Killian’s were tender. She marveled at how much their kisses fit their personalities. Killian had always been the protector, not only for her but for other misfits in school, like Chandler. He was their champion and she hadn’t been surprised when he’d enlisted in the Army. She ran her fingers through his dark hair, trying not to melt under his soft caresses.
They separated at the sound of Justin’s quietly muttered curse. “Gonna be lucky to make it back to our place if you two keep that up. You’re steaming up the window and my cock’s about to rip through these freaking pants.”

Friday I’m in Love Review

Friday I’m in Love – Fortunately Natalie had already won over the crowd so they were generous with their applause, and as they left the stage, several men rose to slap him on the back. Apparently she’d stolen some hearts and at least two of the patrons told him he was a lucky bastard.

Saturday Night Special Review

Saturday Night Special – “Listen, we’ll have a big party when we get back. Celebrate in style.”
Tris laughed. “Sounds like a plan. Welcome to the family, bro, and, um…good luck. You’ll need it.”
Aaron smiled as he closed the phone. He’d grown up with the Collins siblings and they’d never failed to make him feel like part of the family. Realizing he was suddenly an official member made him happier than he would have expected.

Any Given Sunday Review

Any Given Sunday – Fuck! As if it wasn’t bad enough he was lusting over Sean’s girlfriend, now he was getting a hard-on looking at Sean. Chad forced the thought away, something he’d gotten very adept at over the years. There was no way in hell he was going down that road.
He quickly averted his gaze, looking down at his own body. Chad felt like a middle-aged accountant whenever he stood next to Sean. He spent too much time indoors. While he was trim, no one would call him built. He certainly wasn’t sporting a six-pack. Shit. He’d be lucky to find just one in his pack and his skin was too pale from lack of sun.

Wild Irish Christmas Review

Wild Irish Christmas – . “I like walking in the moonlight. Gives a man some quiet time with his thoughts.”
“And you have a lot of those?”
“A million,” he confessed, enjoying their lighthearted banter.
“I think I’d like to hear a few.”
“Well,” he said, lifting the end of the bar and walking toward her. “You’re in luck. Since I’m escorting you home tonight, you’ll be privy to all my silly dreams and schemes.”

The Wild Irish series is available at Amazon,  Ellora’s Cave,  Barnes and Noble,  Sony, and All Romance

  1. I have so many lucky sayings… But I think thei Irish Blessing says it all.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
    And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand,
I love Mari Carr’s book. I have read the first two in the series and I have to get the rest…

  2. Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I don’t really have a lucky saying. I do like many of the ones that other people say though. 😉 Thank you for the giveaway.

  3. I tell my students often, “Luck comes to those who have prepared.” They are usually saying things like, “I got lucky on that test” or that they got a lucky grade on a paper.

  4. The only saying that come to mind is “No such luck”, but that’s not a very lucky saying!!

I just finished rereading this series – LOVE IT!! 🙂

  5. The one I really like that always makes me smile:

May you have the hindsight to know where you’ve been, the foresight to know where you’re going and the insight to know when you’ve gone too far.

  6. One of my favorite quotes,
“A man on a date wonders if he’ll get lucky. The woman already knows.”

Love, love the Wild Irish series Mary, it’s one I can read over and over again and never get tired of it. Just a fun and diverse group and each story so different from the other. Thanks for bringing the Collins family to life for all of us!

  7. I LOVE Mari Carr’s books! I’ve read the first in this series…and would love to read the rest of them! The only ‘lucky’ saying that comes to mind is: “Find a penny, pick it up…and all day long you’ll have good luck!” HA! Done that a bazillion times and can’t tell you that it’s true, LOL! 🙂 Happy St. Pat’s Day!

  12. I don’t have a lucky saying but a student I knew at the university I work for, told me that if you said “rabbit, rabbit, rabbit” on the first day of the month before you get out of bed you would have some luck. I’m afraid that it didn’t work for me but some people believe in it.

  14. Wow, I don’t think I have a luck statement that I use. I tend to be more of a work for it, organize to succeed but not that luck has anything to do with it! I love the Wild Irish series. It’s so much fun!
