Breaking Free provides the reader with a terrifying yet satisfying journey of an abused woman who finds her way back to sanity and safety through a Dom at a BDSM Club.
This is the third in the Masters of the Shadowlands series and features Beth, a sub who isn’t sure she can feel anything but fear anymore, and Nolan, one of the Doms at the club. Beth was so badly abused by her husband that she can’t let go even at the club. BDSM helps her, but she only works with new or lighter weight Doms. Owner Master Z turns her over to Nolan, one of the most powerful Doms.
The story details Beth’s ability to overcome her fears and Nolan’s growing attachment to a brave woman who finds her way back to sexual satisfaction under his tutelage. But Beth’s husband hasn’t given up and shows up to claim her again.
While there are some definite dark elements in this book-the description of Beth’s injuries are horrifying, the overall book is a story of hope and overcoming adversity.
Nolan’s sense of honor and Beth’s compassion and bravery make them admirable members of Sinclair’s world of BDSM, and the book takes you from sympathy to terror to joy. A wonderful read.
