Description
Her job is to make his life miserable. His job is to make her submit. Whose heart will surrender first?

Across the country, rebellious BDSM submissives are being systematically kidnapped, one from each club. When her friend falls prey to the slavers, FBI victim specialist Gabrielle volunteers to be bait in a club not yet hit: the Shadowlands.

She finds that being a bratty sub comes naturally, especially when she gets to twit the appallingly conservative Master of the trainees. But she soon discovers he’s not as stuffy as she’d thought. Or as mean. She’d expected punishment, even humiliation, but she sure never expected to fall in love with a damned lawyer.

Courtesy of a prima donna ex-wife, Marcus loathes disobedient submissives. When the club owner insists he admit an incredibly bratty trainee, he’s furious. But as he comes to know Gabrielle and sees the alluring sweetness beneath the sass, he starts to fall for her.

Unfortunately, Marcus isn’t the only one who believes the feisty redhead is a prize worth capturing. And in the world of the slaver, such treasure is worth a hefty fee.

Publisher’s Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Anal play/intercourse, strong BDSM theme and elements, violence.

Shadow’s Thoughts
If I had to pick one book to take with me to a desert island, this would be the one. It has a strong, but vulnerable heroine, an overprotective, dominant hero and an outstanding story line.

There is no heroine anywhere that I like more than Gabrielle. While she is sexually submissive, she is no wimp, but a strong woman who takes no guff in her personal life, where she serves as a victim advocate, a social worker for the FBI. When a friend of hers is kidnapped, she goes undercover as a sub trainee at Club Shadowlands. Unfortunately, the group doing the kidnapping is targeting bratty subs, so Gabby has to push way past her comfort level to defy the Doms at Shadowlands.

Instructing her is Master Marcus, the Director of Trainees at Shadowlands. He knows there is a reason Gabby is almost self destructive when she acts out, but try as he will, he cannot find the reason. He finally takes matters into his own hands and sends her in to subspace to question her. When he finds out she is with the FBI, he feels betrayed. When Gabby discovers he has questioned her during a scene, she also feels betrayed.

Then Gabby is kidnapped by the same group that took her friend. With her is Jessica, the sub of the owner of Shadowlands, Master Z. Can Marcus and Z rescue their subs in time to keep them from being sold into white slavery? Can Marcus and Gabby overcome their feelings of betrayal and Marcus’ dislike of bratty subs?

This book has everything-a wonderful plot with lots of twists and turns, a great heroine, a wonderful hero and page after page of hot sex, all in a BDSM setting. I love Cherise Sinclair’s work, but I rank this as my all time favorite.

  1. Marcus’ story is one of my favorite. I loved how they all wanted to help keep the charade up when it was accidentally revealed. that’s what friends do for one another. Thanks for the review.

  2. Since reading the reviews & checking out the author’s website, Cherise Sinclair is definitely an author I’m going to check out. I also noticed that she was nominated for a handful of awards. Congratulations to her on these nominations!
