Love in Bloom

I adore spring. It’s my favorite season. I love walking outside on a glorious spring morning and feeling the sun warm my skin. I love the scent of all those new buds coming into bloom, and I love the lightness in everyone’s steps – as though they’re shrugging off winter and waking up again.

Which is why writing all of this depresses me no end. See, spring couldn’t be further away from Sydney. We’ve just hit autumn/fall in a big way, with torrential storms and drops in temperature and the grim knowledge that winter is on its way. No more beach, no more summer sun, no more late evening picnics. It’s early sunsets, late sunrises and chilly early mornings.

So tomorrow, when you walk outside to begin your day, please, stop, inhale deeply, raise your face to the sun, and enjoy these glorious spring days. You’re lucky to have them.

To help you celebrate spring (or for those of you on my side of the world…to help cheer up your Autumn) here’s news of my latest release. Office Affair is now available. It’s the unofficial sequel to Island Idyll and well, it contains more loving and hot sex than I ever thought possible to include in a book before.

😉

Enjoy it.
Jess

KcLu’s OFFICE AFFAIR review

Office Affair: The Blurb

All work and no play? Not for this girl. Not anymore.

Melissa Sparks has had enough. Enough of being the high achiever, enough of ignoring her social life in favor of her job and enough of being lonely. Just this once she wants a change. Something different. Something that looks very much like her business associate, Ben Cowley.
Ben Cowley is all alone in the deserted offices of Preston Elks. He’s gorgeous, he’s single and he’s been her secret fantasy for the last two years. It’s a split-second decision, but there’s no going back.
When Ben looks up from his desk, the last thing he expects to see is his too-serious, straight-laced colleague stripping naked. It’s been a year since his last relationship ended, and though he’s still picking up the pieces, Melissa throws his carefully balanced world off its axis. So does her offer: a brief affair, no strings attached.
Right about the time he realizes a simple affair will never be enough, she’s back in professional mode—and clearly as distant as ever. Now it’s up to him to show her that what they have is no fluke…and he’ll do whatever it takes to convince her. Even if it means inviting another man into their bed.
Warning: This book contains a man haunted by his past decisions, a woman determined to succeed, sex hot enough to steam up every office window on the block, and a voyeur who gets off watching those windows steam up.
Office Affair: A steamy teaser to heat up your nights
“You’re treading on dangerous ground.” Ben’s cock ached like blazes. He was more aroused then he had been in a year. Add to that the fact his already eccentric tastes and desires had become even more kinky since his last encounter with Sienna, and Melissa had very little clue what ground she trod on.

“Far as I can see, I’m not treading ground at all. I’m sitting in front of you, in your office, with my feet on your chair.”

“And your legs spread temptingly before me.” He was losing control. Letting lust get the better of his sensible judgment.

“You think that’s tempting?” She raised an eyebrow and smiled another quick little smile.
Christ, he loved her smiles.

He nodded once. Very tempting. Made even more so by the fact that they were at work, and there was a good possibility someone could walk in on them. More than once Ben had left an important document at the office, forcing him to return once he’d already arrived home. If he could do it, anyone could. “You’re like a little package asking to be unwrapped.”

“Unwrap me,” she urged.

“Melissa—”

“Mel.”

He dragged his gaze away from the tempting package to look into her eyes. “Mel?”

“You’re about to fuck me. I think we can drop the formalities.”

“Mel…” That might take a little getting used to. “You took a chance coming here like this.” Hell, just the thought that she had taken such a risk turned him on more. “What if I’d said no?”

“If I’d thought for a moment you’d say no, I’d have gone no further than letting my hair down.”

“You knew I wouldn’t turn you away?”

She leaned forward. “You should know by now I never jump into any deal without doing a background check first. I watched you, observed your reactions. Carefully. The second I pulled the clips from my hair, your eyes turned a shade darker and your cheeks reddened.” Her hand hovered in the air between them and then landed on his shirt. “Your breathing has been uneven ever since. And now?” She smiled that sexy smile again. “Now it’s just plain ragged. And that, Cowley, is a huge turn-on.”

Christ, that speech just made him hornier. She’d observed him, summed up the situation and only then acted. Exactly what he’d do. “Course my breathing is a little ragged. Every time I inhale, I smell your pussy.”

“Touch it,” she whispered.

“Touch what?”

“My pussy.”

Ben set his jaw in a firm line and curled his fingers into two fists, making sure he did not respond to the invitation. Not yet anyway. “Melis…Mel, you need to be sure.” No fucking way in hell was he taking the deal if the woman wasn’t one hundred percent certain. She may believe everything would go back to normal in the morning, everything would just be work as usual, but Ben knew better. Sex changed everything. And his and Melissa’s relationship would be changed.

Melissa didn’t answer. She pushed off his shoulders and lay back on his desk, leaving herself exposed to Ben’s gaze.

A bead of sweat trailed down his spine. “Jesus, fuck. Okay, Sparks. You’ve got it. You have a deal.”

She wanted him to touch her? So help her God, he’d touch her. But on his terms. In his own way.

  1. Woohoo! A question I can answer with a fun answer!! I married my workplace fling!! On May 30th, we will celebrate our 25th anniversary. While it wasn’t love at first sight, there was something there and friendship blossomed into so much more. I not only got a best friend, a life partner, a lover, but also a fantastic husband from my workplace fling!!

  2. I also married my workplace fling. We were friends first and things developed from there. This May, it will be 24 years. There’s been a lot of ups and downs, but it’s been wonderful

  3. Yes, I had a fling with a boss at one job that didn’t turn out well and then I had a fling with a co-worker that also didn’t turn out to well. I really don’t recommend them…lol

  4. Thanks for a great post! Whew… *hawt* excerpt 😉

I have never had a fling w/ a coworker and probably never will. I work in health care which, despite the Grey’s Anatomy stereotypes, is not populated by good looking, single doctors 🙂

I have had a crush on a co-worker but I’ve never had a fling. I’m not sure I would. I wouldn’t want things to become difficult at work. I do love to read about office flings though!

  6. Well, I did have a fling with a co-worker and then I started dating another co-worker who I ended up marrying and it will be 20 years in December. I don’t know if it was where I worked, but serveral co-workers ended up marrying. But the ones who dated and it ended badly didn’t fare so well. It can be very uncomfortable when that happens and they are immature about it. This looks great BTW!

  7. No, I’ve never had a crush or fling with a co-worker. If it goes well, like I see it has for some (congratulations by the way), then that’s great. But if it doesn’t go so well, that just brings a lot of drama with it. Plus, I don’t think I could stand seeing my ex date someone else strutting around the office right in front of me. I’d rather look outside of the workplace.

  8. Haven’t had a fling or crush on any co-workers. I would have stayed at those jobs much longer had that been the case 🙂

  9. I cannot lie.. Yes I had a fling witha co-worker… But after I stopped working at the same place it fizzled out… We saw each other for few months and then we called it quits…

  10. I have crushed on someone at work before, but didn’t try anything, I was to worried about results after a break up. But I do know many ppl who started something at work and have been happily together ever since. I also know those who started affairs and have ended in disaster when their significant others found out.

I think it’s possible to make a go if it is two single people and they are mature about it.

  11. I’ve have several crushes on co-workers but I have never done anything about it. I have dated people at work but they approached me so I don’t consider that. There was a guy right after high school who almost left his fiance but he turned out to be a good guy and straighten up.

  12. I have done it four times, one of those were my ex-husband. That was a big mistake, but not because we had worked together.. lol.. Don’t know if I would do that again. Plus not many sexy single men in healthcare. 😉

  13. Never! There are lots of reasons why but they are too legnthy to share here. I did have one guy friend that I thought was a real catch but he was already caught so NEVER! Besides, workplace gossip turned stupid and people started talking about us (you know, are they or aren’t they) so we stopped being workplace friends. Such a waste because he was a great guy.

  14. Oh yes…I have had a crush. But never a fling. I never let myself get involved with someone at work. Too dangerous of a situation for me.
    Mel

  15. Lots of different responses here. Loving reading them all.

Me? I’ve never had an office affair, but I have had a major crush on someone who worked in the same office block. After all, work woulda been deadly boring if I hadn’t had anyone to perv over.

    😉

Btw- KcLu, thanx for the awesome review.

  16. *waves* to Jess. I LOVED Office Affair. And yes, 20 years ago, I did have an office fling. Unfortunately, someone got jealous (a girl) and she got me fired. Needless to say, a week later, my supervisor and her got fired, too for spreading rumors and lies. I never looked back and never messed around with anyone at work again.
