It’s finally here. Springtime! This is one of my favorite times of the year because it’s not too cold and definitely not too hot. And for someone who lives in Texas that’s a big plus. Summer here can be brutal.
This is the time of year when I love to open every window in the house and let the fresh air, layered with the scent of wildflowers, inside.
Some of my favorite memories are of Springtime. Growing up, I always knew when Springtime hit I could go barefoot outside. There’s nothing better than feeling the green grass beneath your feet.
But I’d say my best memory of Spring didn’t happen in Texas. It took place in Colorado a few years back.
My husband and I went to our cabin in Colorado early one Spring. It was mid-May. Here in Texas it had already begun to get warm, but in Colorado, well, there was snow everywhere. People were actually snowboarding on one of the mountains and my husband and I made a snowman.
Okay, so you’re probably thinking that’s not much of a Spring memory, but for a Texan who rarely sees snow at all, it was perfect.
One lucky commenter will win an e-book copy of either Killer Moves or Worth Staying For. All you have to do is post your favorite Spring memory and I’ll select a winner at random on 5/10.
Good luck!
Mary
Here are blurbs from each of those books.
Killer Moves – Available now at Samhain Publishing
They’re a match made in the hallowed halls of Quantico. Until Death comes knocking…
Six years ago, Kara Bryant tapped into the mind of a serial killer—and nearly became his last victim. Her FBI colleague and lover, Davis Martin, put the murderer behind bars, then devastated her with his abrupt rejection. Worse, the vivid nightmares that followed her to her desert retreat have recently taken a fresh, frightening turn.
She should have foreseen that Davis would turn up. She’s just not sure her still-broken heart can take the strain.
Davis thought he’d made the right decision for everyone involved in a case that almost ended in disaster, thanks to his mistakes. But with a new string of killings that one by one is taking out the women of his past, suddenly he wonders if he let the real Death Angel get away. Kara is the only one who can help him nail the bastard for good this time—if she can forgive him.
He wasn’t expecting the woman he never stopped loving to love him back. Nor is he prepared to come face-to-face with Kara’s secret. One that raises the stakes impossibly high.
This book has been previously published and has been revised and expanded from its original release.
Warning: Contains one smokin’ hot FBI agent, a strong-willed psychic heroine who can more than give him a run for his money, and one nasty killer who will keep you up way into the night.
Worth Staying For – Available now at The Wild Rose Press
Dr. Jordan Scott is banking everything, including her life, that she can simply disappear into thin air, forget the nightmare she left behind in New York, and never be found again by her ex- fiance Caesar Santiago or his powerful family.
Detective Riley Donavan believes the pretty doctor knows more than she’s telling him. Can they work together to solve the murder of her brother, or will they end up the next victims of the crime lord?

Living in Texas we have great wildflowers! My favorite memory is every year the buttercups coming up in my yard marked the count down for school to be out… and by then I was ready to be outside ALL THE TIME. :o)
Now when I see them, I think… I better find a summer babysitter!
Like you, I love to open the windows and let all that lovely fresh air in. I love the cross breeze I get from living room through to the kitchen… It is so crisp and clean smelling…
My favorite memory in the Spring in getting a freak snow storm and being able to play in the snow in May. This was many years ago when I was young but it’s still my favorite memory.
My favorite Spring memory is going BBQ’ing with my family. It was that hot but not too hot. We would drive a few hours to a picnic park with a beautiful lake. It felt and looked so peaceful.
When I was a kid we had lots of farm animals. I always looked forward to all of the new babies that would be born in the Spring. The chicks and baby bunnies were my favorites.

Thanks for a great post! These books sounds awesome!
My fav spring memories growing up were the Saturday softball games we kids held. We had a giant open, grassy lot in front of our house and we held “Sandlot” baseball games. Kids would come from everywhere, it seemed, to play. It was so funny, if we heard a “mom” calling, we’d all stop and listen to determine who’s it was 🙂
I remember in the spring and summer, we would go down to the water and watch my grandpa sing in the barbershop. He and all the men had these funny mustaches and would sing all together or in a quartet.
I haven’t heard of this author but sounds great!

Great post-love the blurbs! Where I live there’s no spring.
My favorite spring memories are of my Dad taking me fishing. Not that I ever caught anything but trees…but Dad would patiently untangle my line. Gotta love a daddy’s girl!

My favorite Spring memory was seeing the daffodils bloom that I planted at my very own house! From a school band fundraiser kit, to my front yard doesn’t seem like much but to me it meant that this was a new start for my children and me.
Happy Spring!

My favorite spring memory is planting flower and vegetable gardens with my parents/grandparents when I was young. I could never get my kids to settle down long enough to keep there hands in the dirt ‘productively’. 🙂
