Description:
Madison Daniels has worshipped her brother’s best friend since they were kids. Everyone thinks she and Chase Gamble would make the perfect couple, but there are two major flaws in their logic. 1) Chase has sworn off relationships of any kind, and 2) after blurring the line between friends and lovers for one night four years ago, they can’t stop bickering.

Forced together for her brother’s wedding getaway, Chase and Madison decide to call a truce for the happy couple. Except all bets are off when they’re forced to shack up in a tacky 70’s honeymoon suite and survive a multitude of “accidents” as the family tries to prove their “spark” can be used than for more than fighting. That is, if they don’t strangle each other first

For some reason I am always drawn to books that involve the brother’s friend and forbidden romance. This book has that scenario and so much more.

Chase and Madison are an amazing couple that you can easily connect with. They add spark and excitement to every scene. The sexual tension surrounding these two is scorching. Not only is Chase keeping away from Maddie because he is her brother’s best friend, he also has issues trying to deal with the relationship that his parents had. His father repeatedly cheated on his mom. The only way his mother was able to handle the pain was to turn to pills and alcohol. Chase is afraid that he will wind up just like him and ultimately hurt the ones he loves. He has had feeling for Maddie for a long time, but he knows that she is way too good for him.

As the wedding plans progress they are forced to spend more and more time together. They have to come to terms with their feeling towards one another. There are a lot of back and forth misunderstandings and Ms. Lynn does a great job capturing the turmoil these two face.

Chase has been in Madison’s life since she was a child so there are a lot of stories that get told about her childhood. It added an additional layer of comedy to the story line that I thought was a great touch.

Overall, this is a really enjoyable fast paced romance. I would recommend it to anyone who has a sweet spot for childhood crushes that evolve into true love.

Thanks for the review – love stories about the brother’s baby sister and his best friend falling in love.

  2. I really liked this book. I was surprised that this came from a YA author. I hope she does more adult contemporary books and maybe push the steam factor a little more. Great reviews
