Description:
Was she heaven-sent…or more heartbreak waiting to happen?
Haunted by a military mission that ended in personal tragedy, Declan Byrne still bears a soldier’s scars. As a park ranger on the secluded Mendocino coast, he guards his heart while standing ready for anything. Anything except a beautiful, ethereal woman with a mysterious past, falling from the cliffs to the rocks below.
Angel, as Declan decides to call her, has no memory of what happened. But as her body heals, disturbing dreams emerge. In Declan’s protective care, Angel feels safe to act on the undeniable passion between them, without the threats from old, unnameable demons. And, in time, she senses Declan needs her as desperately as she needs him. But when her past returns with a vengeance, Declan must decide just how much he’s willing to risk in order to keep the woman he loves safe.
Fallen Angel by Eden Bradley is a story unlike anything I have ever read before. Be warned, there is subject matter that may make you uncomfortable. But don’t let that keep you away from a wonderful book. Ms. Bradley’s writing style flows eloquently, telling a great story.
Fallen Angel is primarily about Angel’s journey in discovering the real world and her life with Declan, after she had been held in captivity for 16 years in a satanic cult. The bits and pieces of her life within the cult are important to the story. Necessary, yes, but they did not overrun the love we see between Angel and Declan. Angel’s innocence and wisdom are clearly shown. I found myself in awe of her more than once. Protecting Angel, a stranger, became Declan’s mission and he does admirably.
There were times in the first few chapters that I didn’t understand what was happening. At the same time, I could not stop reading. I believe this is because I had my guard up too high and needed to relax into the story. Once I did that and continued reading on; everything fell into place.
We see Declan and Angel’s friendship grow. They help each other reconcile their pasts. And then they finally make love. It was smokin’! I don’t mean just a super-hot sex scene. It was a super-hot LOVE scene. Beautiful and steamy all at the same time. Every time they made love, I could feel the pureness, the love, not just the carnal need. I’m not sure I have ever felt this strong of love in a love scene before. It made my heart very happy. Kudos, Ms. Bradley. Fantastic!
Both Declan and Angel were broken. But together they healed and thrived. Fallen Angel is a wonderful story that shows that love and understanding can win, even in the most dire of circumstances.

I am so putting this book on my TBR list.. That list is growing by leaps and bounds…but I can’t resist a good book…
Angeline, thanks for the review. This sounds like a very interesting read.
Great review! I am putting this book on my shopping list. Thanks for sharing.
I was avoiding this book because of the Angel story but based on your review it felt more like Meet Joe Black than City of Angels. I think I’ll be requesting this one from NG.
The cover is certainly eyecatching and the story sounds like an interesting read. Thanks for the review!
I am usually not one to read angels, but your review has me rethinking that.
