Description:
Joe Cantrell, owner of the Gansett Island Ferry Company, has been in love with Janey McCarthy for as long as he can remember. At the same time, Janey has been dating or engaged to doctor-in-training David Lawrence. When things go horribly wrong between David and Janey, she calls her “fifth brother” Joe, one of the few people in her close circle who lives on the mainland. Janey decides a few days with Joe is just what she needs before she goes home to the island to face her parents and family with the news of her broken engagement. It was bad enough for Joe loving Janey from afar, but having her in his house is pure torture. Will he take advantage of this opportunity to show her what they could have together? And what will Joe’s best friend and Janey’s protective older brother Mac have to say about it?

Fool for Love is book two in The McCarthy’s of Gansett Island series and the only problem with this book is you can not put it down!

Janey McCarthy is the only girl of the McCarthy clan and she gave up her dream of Vet school so her fiance’ could go to medical school. Janey now works as a vet tech for the local Gansett Island vet.

Joe Cantrell runs the Gansett Island ferry. Joe has been in love with Janey for years. Joe grew up with McCarthy boys and Big Mac McCarthy is like a father to Joe.

When Janey catches her fiance’ David in bed with another women the first person she calls is Joe and he drops everything to go to her. Janey finds the love and comfort from Joe that she did not even realize she was missing with David.

I could not get enough of Joe and Janey. I love the friends to lovers story. Marie writes these love so beautifully and she makes me wish I had my own Joe and Mac for that matter. These people could be your friends. And what a piece of work David was! Janey was better off without him. I did feel bad for Janey knowing she gave up her dreams and 13 years of her life for him and all she got was a slap in her face. I do wish Janey had stood up a little more to David’s mother Kay.
But, Janey fianlly has the right man in her life and he wants her to go and find her dreams. I loved that Joe made that happen for her.

Another great read from Marie Force. You will not be disappointed in this book or this series.

Happy Reading!
