Description:

Maddie Chester is determined to leave her hometown of Gansett Island, a place that has brought her only bad memories and ugly rumors. Then she’s knocked off her bike on the way to her housekeeping job at McCarthy’s Resort Hotel by Gansett’s “favorite son,” Mac McCarthy. He’s back in town to help his father with preparations to sell the family resort and has no intention of staying long. When Mac accidentally sends Maddie flying over the handlebars, badly injuring her, he moves in to nurse her back to health and help care for her young son. He soon realizes his plans for a hit-and-run visit to the island are in serious jeopardy, and he just may be “maid” for love.

I wish my knight would mow me down! This is great start to Marie Force’s wonderful The McCarthy’s of Gansett Island series. These are not to be missed!

This is the story of Mac McCarthy and Madeline “Maddie” Chester. Mac is from the local royal family of Gansett Island and grew up in the “White House” as people on the island call it. Maddie was not as lucky as Mac. Her dad left her mom and her little sister Tiffany when Tiffany was just a baby and they have never heard from him since. And, to make matters worse in school Maddie earned the nickname Maddie the mattress due to lies and gossip. With school reputation still hanging over her, Maddie has dealt with being scorned by the Island residence. Maddie is a single mom and works at Mac’s family hotel.

Mac is only home to rest and he will not be staying. As a child Mac could not wait to grow up and leave the Island. Well that plan is shot when he causes Maddie to crash her bike. Mac feels bad for the injurys he has caused and vows to help Maddie until she is better. Mac steps in no questions ask and he does not care that Maddie does not want his help. He knows what he wants and goes after it.

Maid For Love is great love story. I fell in love with Mac and Maddie. Mac is great for Maddie. I loved Mac’s interaction with Maddie’s young son Thomas. Mac had to give it his all to make sure he got his HEA with Maddie. Mac had to over come Maddie’s past and he did so! I loved that he took the bull by to horns and protected Maddie and righted the wrongs done to her. This story is well written and the characters are well developed and you can not help but fall in love with the whole McCarthy family and with Maddie and Thomas. You will even fall in love with everyone on Gansett Island. If you are looking for a great summer beach read with wonderful characters and great stories this is the series for you! Please check back for my reviews of the rest of the Gansett Island series.

Happy Reading!!

  1. Great review and I for one am a HUGE Marie Force fan but more than that I’m an even bigger Gansett Island fan. Hubby and I have decided it’s the kind of place we want to live. Those of you who haven’t read the series, get on it. You won’t want to stop once you start!
