Description:
If only he wasn’t so good at being bad…

Dr. Ben Torres, better-than-a-Boy-Scout, surgeon extraordinaire, has been interested in ER nurse Jessica Bradford—and her bright red peek-a-boo thong—for a long time now. But punching a patient in the nose—and the subsequent suspension—is probably not the best way to get on her good side.

Or is it?

Jessica is one step away from the big promotion she’s worked for all her professional life, and now everything rides on her ability to keep Dr. Perfect—aka handsome, heroic Ben—on a short leash until the potential lawsuit blows over. And to keep her raging crush on him under wraps.

First order of business is to pry her knight in shining scrubs’ perfect ass off a bar stool. Except he refuses to move until she agrees to—and then loses—a bet for 48 hours of her undivided attention.

It’s all downhill from there. And despite herself, Jessica can’t help but give in to the temptation to go down with him…

Product Warnings

Contains hot love in a store dressing room and in the front seat of a car—at the expense of a very nice strawberry patch, unfortunately—oh, and hooker boots. Can’t forget the hooker boots.
Hi all! I noticed Samhain was re-releasing a great series this week and Erin Nicolas has a new one in this series coming out next week, so I decided a re-read was in order. Since this series hasn’t been review on the site, I decided to review them as I read because hopefully these are new to some of you and you’ll enjoy them as much as I do.
Just Right by Erin Nicholas is the first book in the Bradford’s series. The “actual” Bradfords consist of Jessica, Sam, and Sara. I say “actual” because along the way they’ve picked up some honorary members of their family in Dooley, Mac, and Kevin. These three work with Sam and provide a lot of interest and entertainment in the books.Jessica is the oldest sibling and more than that she’s raised Sam and Sara since their father’s death when she was 20. Because of the circumstances of his death and because she was thrown into the role of parent, she’s extremely anal, organized, and responsible. Everyone teases her about this but she’s brushes it off, she is who she is and she doesn’t make apologies for it. She’s also a top notch and well respected ER nurse.

Ben Torres is the best trauma surgeon in the area and a very well respected doctor until one day he punches a patient. Now, yes I know this is all kinds of wrong but I have to say because of the back story I was secretly cheering him on. Following this, he’s removed from his duties and immediately starts celebrating.

What starts out as Jessica “babysitting” Ben after an excess of a lot of things turns into so much more. From the start we know these two have a thing for each other but they’ve never acted on it. However, many things keep them from jumping into a sexual relationship right away. That’s not a bad thing because they learn a lot about each other and their feeling deepen despite how much they fight them.

I really liked the characters in this book. Even when Ben was being kind of a jerk, I could see his point and I found it hard to fault him. He is arrogant, bossy at times, but also incredibly funny. Jessica was a little too sanctimonious for me. I understand why she has high standards and I respect that but I honestly felt at times she was just way to rigid. I adored Sam despite him being a man-whore, he was funny and honest. Sara is a princess and it was obvious she was raised mostly by Jessica because she’d get on her high horse and wouldn’t let things drop. Dooley, Mac, and even Kevin were hilarious, fun, and obviously have a great relationship with all the Bradfords.

This was truly a story of self discovery and letting go of expectations. I enjoyed watching both Jessica and Ben work through their issues and come to terms with the changes going on in their lives. Some of the “fun” things Jessica and Ben do together are outrageous and exciting.

I very much enjoyed Just Right, Erin writes interesting and amusing characters and snappy dialog that just keeps you turning the pages wanting to see what happens next.

Thank you for the review on “Just Right”. It seems like just the kind of story I want to add to my Summer Reading List. Which, by the way, is growing. Wonder if I’ll get it all done before summer s over. What’s a girl to do? So many great books out there to read.

This author sounded so familiar that I had to check out her website and realized I read one of her stand alone books. This sounds like a good beginning for her series. Reading about families can be great fun. thanks for your review.

Hi Jessie and Eileen, this is an awesome series and I’ll let you in on a secret. There are three books for the siblings, then a free read that is available on Samhain’s website which I guess is technically the 4th book. Book five releases on Tuesday (it’s Dooley’s story)! I did reviews on all the books including the freebie short so check back! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop in and comment!!

These are perfect for summer reading or reading while cozy in front of the fireplace. No matter where, you’ll feel a since of belonging in this group. Love these characters!

I’ve read some of Ein’s books, but none in this series. Love reading family series – thanks for sharing!

I appreciate this review. You’ve introduced me to a “new” author and this book looks like a great example of her work. I must look into more of her stories! Thank you.
