Description:
Security Consultant Vic Andrews lives by his Man Laws:

Never mess with your best friend’s sister
Never get caught
Never get attached

But he can’t deny his irresistible attraction to Gina Delgado, a young widow with three kids and plenty of strings attached. Even so, having a physical relationship doesn’t mean they’re “in a relationship.”

Gina lost her husband to tragedy; she is not getting emotionally involved with another man in a dangerous profession. Sleeping with Vic is just stress relief.

Until one of Vic’s assignments goes wrong and the target selects Gina and her kids for revenge. There’s nothing Vic won’t do to protect Gina and the children–the family he realizes, too late, he wants. He’ll accomplish his mission but will he have lost his only chance at true love?

Book number two in Adrienne Giordano’s Private Protectors series was a heart pounding, adrenalin rush from start to finish. Vic Andrews is a security consultant, one who lives for the thrill of his next assignment. He lives by the “Man Laws” and there are many but lately he seems to be having trouble remembering them. He broke the cardinal law, never mess with your best friend’s sister. Gina Delgado (sister to Michael from book 1) is a widow and mother of three. When these two are alone together, they go up in flames. Michael has warned them both to not get involved, but they just can’t seem to help themselves.

Vic finds that he’s attracted the attention of a terrorist who knows who he is and where he lives but when the terrorist threatens Gina and her kids, he knows he has to take action. Soon he finds himself not only protecting them but also defending his relationship with Gina to his best friend and her oldest son. Vic was very emotionally stunted at the beginning and it was satisfying to watch him grow and change. Gina, I just love her sassy mouth and no nonsense attitude. She has endured so much and I love how she managed to remain true to herself and strong throughout everything.

I’m enthralled by the complex plots and depth of characters in Adrienne’s books. In this book she deals with abandonment issues, accepting and overcoming grief, terrorism in the U.S., kidnapping, and yet she still manages to give us a satisfying love story between two people who never thought they could be together.

In reading the first two books of this series, I’ve come to realize that while these books have a romance aspect to them they are probably considered more “thrillers” than romance. That doesn’t make them any less satisfying to read; in fact they are very good. This story in particular kept me on the edge of my seat and had some pretty heart stopping moments. This is an emotional, fast paced, exciting book that in the end left me smiling. I have no doubt I will continue to enjoy this action packed series.

I LOVE the Private Protector series. I read Man Law first, then Risking Trust which is before Man Law. They are both definitely worth reading. Man Law is a good book, but Risking Trust was my favorite and it kept me on the edge of my seat turning the pages. Great series!

Yes, there’s been a lot of confusion regarding the order of her books. I guess they were published out of order which caused the confusion but per the author the order is:
Risking Trust, Man Law, A Just Deception, and Negotiating Point.
