Description:
Middle-aged in Montana…Spending time at a Montana guest ranch seemed like a good idea to widow Brenda Morelli after her life fell apart. Now, stuck in snow and mired in the mud miles from her destination, all she wants is to go home. Then an electrifying cowboy comes to her rescue, and Brenda decides it’s time to get back on the horse.
It’s not his first time at the rodeo…
Retired cowboy Denny Poyter has never been one to turn down a ride, on or off the circuit. But what’s a cowboy to do when deep emotions unexpectedly come into play? Especially when he’s the only one who wants more than a fast spin around the corral?
He’ll figure it out. But in the meantime, he and the sexy southern belle will generate enough electricity to light up Big Sky Country.
I think what drew me to this book was “Middle-aged in Montana….”. Being middle-aged, I thought it would be nice to read a book about someone closer to my age and not some 21 year old, svelte, gorgeous girl who could have anyone on the planet and always gets the hottest one. Well, I wasn’t the least bit disappointed in Saddling Brenda. Brenda and Denny made me smile and I enjoyed the time I spent with the in Big Sky Country.
Brenda is a widow who went to Montana on a mission….to find out exactly what her husband fell in love with. She also wants to get away from everyone feeling sorry for her. She knows a secret and it would ruin everyone’s opinion and memories of her deceased husband, Chuck. Denny is a former Rodeo Cowboy who returned home to the family business. No, not ranching like you would expect, his family owns the electric company. He stumbles upon Brenda stuck on the side of the road in a snow storm and it’s “lust” at first site. See, Denny is a player and he always goes out to the “Double B” Ranch when it’s time for them to bring in their summer help. He thinks Brenda is one of the help until she sets him straight that she’s on vacation and is going to be there for 3 months. Denny sets his site on spending as much time with the curvacious southern belle. But, neither one of them expect the fireworks that happen between the two of them.
Saddling Brenda was a fun, quick book to read. There were times in the book that I was a little confused but then, Ms. Stiletto brought you right back on track. I like that she hinted at what the secret was that Brenda was keeping inside and how she finally brought it out. Brenda, after all is said and done, was a woman who lived a lie for 10 years only to find out that she was stronger than she thought and a lot more woman than she ever was. Denny brings out the “woman” that Chuck never could. She never imagined that a vacation would end up being the beginning of her life.

I also like that the heroin of this book is a middle aged women. Although I don’t really think of myself as middle aged it doesn’t make it untrue. I’ll be addingthis book to my ever growing TRB pile.
Thanks Kitty for the review. I’ve read quite a few books lately with older (40’s-50’s) characters and I love them. It’s nice that writers are realizing not everyone is 20!
Thanks for the review Kitty. I love my cowboys and and a little cubbie to play with. My what a way to go. Definite buy!!!!!!
Thanks for the review Kitty!
