Safewords: Davenport and Chiffon is the continuation of Dana’s story, working through her grief over the loss of her husband, Garnet and beginning her life with Zach. Under no circumstances could you read this book without reading Safeword: Davenport first. You will be lost, you won’t understand why things happen in this book the way they do and you’ll absolutely regret not reading a wonderfully written book.

With that said, Davenport and Chiffon picks up exactly where Davenport ends, with a Happy Ending (for now) for Dana and Zach. There is still so much more to explore and experience between the two of them and how do Brent and Jacob figure into the story? These questions, and more are answered here.

I was totally impressed with this book. There were scenes in Davenport and Chiffon that had me squirming – do they really do this? Yes. As I said, I made sure when I went to BDSM sites to authenticate TPE and what it may involve. It is very had to explain all that happens, how they ALL come to their HEA here, without giving away a lot of the storyline. I would rather you read it in its entirety so that you understand how they all come together.

In Davenport and Chiffon, Dana faces the reality that she did fall in love with Zach and is ready to move on. Brent and Jacob had a lot to do with her coming to terms with her Masochism, with Zach’s need for TPE and not being a Sadist. She also finds herself falling in love with Jacob as well. Jacob is Brent’s full-time Submissive and is also bi-sexual. The scenes where Dana “Tops” Jacob are wonderful. Of course, Brent and Zach are there to watch and supervise but the connection between the two of them is phenomenal.

Zach and Brent become friends, trying to find a way for everyone to have who and what they want/need in their relationships. What transpires is unbelievable. Zach learns to yield a whip to give Dana what she needs. Brent alters his contract with Jacob to allow Dana to Top him. Dana accepts loving 2 men. But, that is just a quick synopsis. There is no way to describe all that happens to bring them to this point. There was a point in this book that I cried – my heart broke for Dana and couldn’t understand how Zach could do that to her when he was the first to say “I Love You”. I loved Brent’s game that finally brings Dana and Zach back together and the scenes where they are working to that “trust” again were heart-warming.

I learned how and why contracts are signed in a D/s, M/s, TPE relationship. They are important for such things as punishments, when and IF safewords can be used. Yes, “if” is the operative word here. There are times that they are not allowed to safeword – take whatever punishment is being meted out. But, boy do Dana and Jacob get off on that. There is extreme orgasm denial, severe piercings and electrical play. And a wedding, with one hell of a reception afterward. Oh, no guests were invited. Ahh, to be a voyeur there……45 minutes of orgasms. Can you handle it? And, I know I keep saying “extreme” but there is no other word to describe the “playing” in this book:

Dana shook her head. Speechless.

The process was clinical at first — lube a few links, push them in; lube a few more links,
push them in. She felt a slight pinch a handful of times, but as soon as she started saying “Ow,”
he was straitening things out and fixing it.
