Welcome to our stop on the SEVEN SEXY SINS Blog Tour
Hi DiDi and thanks for having me on Guilty Pleasures today!
I’m here to tell you a little about my new release from Samhain Publishing. It’s called Seven Sexy Sins and it’s a fun and sexy Red Hot contemporary romance set in the beautiful sub-tropical Northland of New Zealand.
The story follows the sexual journey of Faith Hillman, a 22-year-old journalist who’s been commissioned by a women’s magazine to write a series of articles based on the seven deadly sins to encourage women to experiment in the bedroom. Faith decides to carry out some research, and the gorgeous Rusty Thorne is more than happy to offer his services.
It’s a brother’s-best-bud and friends-to-lovers story, and I love these themes, maybe because I really like stories where a couple become friends before they fall into bed. I had this scene in my head of Faith, aged twelve with braces and pigtails, secretly watching a sixteen-year-old Rusty kissing a girl and wishing she could have been in her place. With ten years of affection between them, and her very aware of his reputation in bed, I thought she would find it impossible to say no to him when he eventually offers his help with her research. She wouldn’t want to fall in love with the commitment-phobic Rusty, but who better to help him exorcise his demons than the best friend he’s loved since forever? It was a great theme to explore (so much so that I wrote another story with the same premise that comes out with Lyrical Press early next year, called Mr. Insatiable.)
The seven sins were a fun idea and I hesitate to tell you that I think it popped into my head after I watched the horror movie 7even, which isn’t a sexy movie at all, unless you count the fact that it features Brad Pitt! Incidentally, it’s no coincidence that Rusty is Brad’s name in the film Ocean’s Eleven (which also features in the book as the name of a rather interesting porn movie when the word “inches” is added to the title!) He was kind of in my head as the role model for the delicious Rusty.
It was such an enjoyable story to write that I had no trouble agreeing with my editor’s plea to follow up with another story featuring the fun and playful Toby, and Six Naughty Nights has a release date of March 26th.
I’m talking about each of the Sins (including sexy excerpts) on different sites. So if you want to find out about all seven, you’ll have to hunt me down! Check out the schedule for more details about where I’m appearing next.
I hope you enjoy reading the story as much I did writing it!

SEVEN SEXY SINS Blurb:
The road to passion is paved with guilty pleasures.
Faith Hillman is in a bit of a pickle. She’s been commissioned to write a series of magazine articles on spicing up your love life. She’s got the theme—the “Seven Sexy Sins”—but there’s one major problem. She hasn’t experienced any of them.
Ever since Faith’s older brother gave Rusty Thorne a black eye for kissing her on her eighteenth birthday, he’s kept his distance, waiting for the right time to make his move. This is it. She needs a research partner? He’s the man for the job.
When sex-on-legs Rusty offers his services, Faith is all over it—with one caveat. The notorious heartbreaker must sign a confidentiality contract. Just to keep him safe from her brother’s wrath, of course…and her heart off Rusty’s long list of conquests.
As they work their wicked way through the list, the implications of the contract hit Rusty as hard as the handcuffs binding his wrists to the bed. It isn’t just Faith’s touch that rocks his world. It’s the way his heart likes it that blows his defenses out of the water. And makes him wonder, when the contract ends, if he can bear to let her go.

Serenity, thanks so much fro stopping in to share with us today. I’m very excited about this release and can’t wait to read it. What I love about the friends to lovers theme is that usually the couple already knows so much about each other so their relationship starts on a different level. I’ve always felt that the connection is so much deeper. Since my hubby is my best friend, I guess I speak from experience. No one knows you inside and out like your best friend who is also your lover!!
Congrats on the new release. This book sounds fantastic. Can’t wait to read it. I love the friends to lovers theme. They know each other so well, know the others likes and dislikes, have a deeper connection because they are friends.
Brother’s-best-bud and friends-to-lovers themes can be fun to read, especially if there is sexual tension between the two characters until BAM…
This sounds like a great story. I have always loved the friends/sibling’s friend to lovers stories. Falling in love with a best friend or a sibling’s best friend is very common, I guess because you tend to be around them a lot. And I love reading books based on the seven sins, they can be so much fun to read about.

This is such a great book. I loved it! I love it when the hero finally stands up the the brother and claims his love for his sister. It’s always an AWWWW moment for me.
I love that the book is the start of a series! Sounds very intriguing!
Thank you for the giveaway.
What I love about the brother’s best friend/friends to lovers is that the characters already have a history and know the good and the bad about each other.
I like the fact that characters in brother’s best friend/friends to lovers know each fairly well and have a common past history to draw from.
I love reading about their past history for instance in your post you said you saw 12 year old Faith seeing 16 year old Rusty kissing a girl and wishing it was her…love reading stuff like that, it gets me everytime.
I like the friends to lovers theme. It’s always a hoot to see the change when he/she realizes they’ve left the friend zone.
Congrats on the new release,I put it on my to be read shelf. 🙂

I’ve always liked friends-to-lovers, too, and who could resist the title?
I love the shared history the h/h have.
I can very much relate to the subject of ” A crush on a brother’s buddy”.. So books that have this subject are very close to my heart… It brings back memories of my late teens and twenties when two of my brother’s friends were intrested in me.. Brings back a lot of sweet memories.
I like reading about friends to lovers relationships and how they start out slowly, then they rachet up and they become lovers. It’s really exciting to read about.

I like that they already have a history and a relationship together. It builds into something else and you get to watch it change.
I’ve always liked these themes too–I always find it very believable when the characters already share a connection, and I love seeing how that evolves as their feelings do!
