Description:
Wanting a new start, Derek Johnson moves to Siesta Key, Florida, in search of a new life among the endless stretches of sandy white beaches and lush tropical landscape.

Born into a super rich and affluent family, Cody Connors returns to Siesta Key and his parents’ home with his tail between his legs, jobless and penniless with no future in sight…at least a future he wants.

Meeting on the dunes one afternoon and instantly attracted to each other, their fateful hookup turns into something more. But are they willing to accept each other’s differences and fall in love? Or will they deny their true feelings and walk away?

Between the hot, sunny days and warm tropical nights, Derek and Cody do everything but take a siesta, causing plenty of heat all of their own.

There was some talk on Facebook about this book so I decided to check it out for myself and yes, I bought and read it despite it being the fourth book in a series and without reading the first three. You’ll know that doesn’t happen often with me, but I was curious so I jumped right in. Alex Carreras is a new to me author and this is the first book I’ve read by him but it won’t be the last.

Let me explain what Siesta Heat is and isn’t…it’s a book about a random encounter on a beach that turns in to more, it is not a lovey, dovey story filled with a lot of emotion. Most of you know I enjoy a good man lust story every now and again and Siesta Heat fits that category. Yes, the two men do get around to discussing some real issues and feelings but that’s really not the focus of this book. This book is about two very hot, fairly young guys enjoying each other…period, end of statement. If you can’t handle pure sex scenes between two men then this isn’t the book for you.

Derek Johnson has moved to Siesta Key to start a new life. He’s had some issues in the past and he’s trying to improve his life and be a better person. Cody Connors is at a crossroads, he was born into a wealthy family and has had privileges all his life but his parents have cut him off and he’s trying to figure out what to do with is life.

I enjoyed this story, yes I would have liked more background information on Derek and Cody not having that, especially on Derek, is because I chose to jump in to book 4 rather than reading the first three books. I however, can’t fault the author for my impatience. These characters were written well; their issues, fears, and lives though different also bonded them. The sex scenes were hot and explosive. This is a fun and sexy book perfect for reading on a day at the beach or by the pool.
