Description:
IN A DANGEROUS GAME

Micah Sloane knows almost everything there is to know about Risa Clay, including the vicious betrayal she endured years ago and the distrust she’s harbored ever since. The only way for the Elite Ops agent to uncover an assassin—and banish the ghosts of his own dark past—is to use Risa as bait. But nothing has prepared him for her disarming blend of innocence and sensuality, or for his overwhelming need to protect her…

DESIRE CAN BE A DEADLY DISTRACTION

Risa has spent six years rebuilding her life. And now, to save it, she must pose as Micah’s lover and draw a killer into the open. It’s a risky plan—especially with a man as powerfully seductive as Micah. But, as their charade becomes reality, Risa realizes the greatest danger may lie in losing her heart forever…

Micah Sloane/David Abijah/Maverick – no matter what the name he is going by, he’s hot. A former Agent with the Mossad….killed by Orion. He signed his life away to The Elite Ops so that he could get vengeance for his parents deaths. Deaths caused by Orion.

Risa Clay. Kidnapped by her own father, fed Whore’s Dust, raped by a friend of her father and kept in an asylum for years by her father as he had his doctors trying new drugs on her. Now, Orion has the orders to kill her – she is remembering too much of her kidnappers.

Micah and Risa – Oil and water – the Plain Jane and the Hunk. But, what she doesn’t know, Micah has had his eyes on her for a long time. He doesn’t think she’s ugly, he doesn’t think she’s plain, he thinks she is a survivor, courageous and beautiful. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, isn’t it?

Risa knows that Micah is keeping secrets, she also knows that it’s for her own good. She has fallen in love with him and knows that he is going to be walking away when Orion is found and killed. Micah has lost his heart to Risa. But, he too knows that she doesn’t have a future with a dead man. Once Orion is neutralized, he has to walk away and leave his heart with her. (Spoiler)
“He stroked his hand down her naked back, feeling the warmth of her, the tender flesh, the silkiness of her skin. As though he had never touched a woman’s body before, he luxuriated in the feel of her. He committed each dip and curve of her body to memory, and reminded himself that dead mean weren’t supposed to dream.
That was one of the rules.
Dead men don’t talk.
Dead men don’t dream.
Dead men don’t love.
Dead men don’t have families.
Dead men didn’t have memories.
And dead men definitely weren’t able to have a weakness.”

Lora Leigh’s writing has always intrigued me. Her story lines are fast paced and exciting, and highly erotic. I always expect the unexpected and love that you really aren’t sure what is going to happen next or how she is going to get you there. And I love that you know that there will be an HEA – no matter what Jordan wants. The other thing that I love about the Elite Op’s Series – everyone is included. Ms. Leigh brings all past and future characters into all her books and keeps us updated on their HEA’s.
