While I enjoyed the story there just wasn’t enough “meat” to it. I would have liked to know more about the characters.  Slick, Guilty Pleasures

fioDescription:
Gay, dramatic, and flamboyant, Avery Jennings first fell in love with Joe Gunderson back in their sophomore year of high school when Joe asked Avery to tutor him for an English Lit class. Avery didn’t think he stood a chance with straight Joe and therefore hid his attraction to the handsome football player. When the tutoring ended, so did Avery’s time with Joe. The years pass and both men go off to college. When Avery’s boss at the diner introduces him to his new co-worker, he’s shocked to come face-to-face with Joe.

A high school crush turns into more in this short, sexy M/M new adult offering, Figuring It out. Avery Jennings had worshiped Joseph Gunderson from a far for most of high school. When they wind up working together their lives begin to change.

Avery and Joseph are polar opposites; Avery in the drama club and Joe an accomplished athlete. Other than some tutoring during sophomore year, they spend little actual time together. Then one day Joe walks into the diner Avery’s working at as a new employee. Avery soon finds out Joe is gay and is disappointed because he feels that means Joe was never interested in him.
Very quickly these two wind up having one night of unbridled passion followed by an apology and a tragedy for Avery. While I enjoyed the story there just wasn’t enough “meat” to it. It moved at such a rapid pace and I would have liked to know more about the characters and their lives outside of work and the bedroom.

There’s no doubt Figuring It Out is a steamy, quick read. If you enjoy new adult romance, M/M romance, and don’t mind not having all the details this story will be right up your alley.
