Robin Covington has once again given us a book with unforgettable loveable characters mixed with a side of suspense. I love her beautiful, yet very original writing style. She really has the ability to portray her characters emotions from an intimate perspective. ~ Rhayne, Guilty Pleasures

Lucky and Taylor are explosive together. They each have past demons that haunt their abilities to accept a future together, but they prove that they must listen to their hearts and not their minds.
This storyline is a favorite plot of mine. I like the forbidden romance scenario. Lucky and Taylor’s brother, Teague are best friends. He knows all of Lucky’s deep secrets, including his inability to commit to women. There is no way he will support any kind of hook up between the two of them. But this story delivers much more than just Teague standing in the way of their future. We also have the distance dilemma thrown into the mix. Taylor has a business deal in the work in Hawaii. She is just home for three short weeks. She believes that her and Lucky can spend three weeks together and then just go their separate ways. Lucky has different plans for her. I truly adored the way he wasn’t afraid to ask and at times beg her to stay with him. He put his emotions out there and it was so easy to relate to his desperation to get her to be a permanent in his life. As if that weren’t enough angst in the story, Taylor doesn’t believe in happily ever after. She doesn’t give her heart away to people that have the power to crush it. She watched her parents disaster of a marriage, and she is never getting herself involved in anything that resembles what they had. Oh, wait….there is still more. We also have a kidnapping, shootings, fights and a hefty ransom. I know it may sound like a lot, it is. But trust me, it’s not rushed or thrown together. The story flows smoothly and completely consumes you.
I loved reading about Jack and Michaela from the first book. I appreciate when an author includes previous players in new series books. It’s always intriguing to keep up with them and know they are still going strong. I don’t believe you would have any trouble reading this as a stand-alone, if you haven’t grabbed book one yet. However, I highly recommend this series and suggest you read them all.
