I flat out LOVE that the hero sees the heroine as beautiful; he doesn’t see her age, he doesn’t see her weight, he sees a sexy woman that he wants. ~ Slick, Guilty Pleasures

Travis Yardley thought he had everything he needed, but one look at Andrea Patterson shows him he was wrong. Andie is a gorgeous, curvy blonde who moves to town to manage a nearby campground. Seizing the chance to get close to her, Travis volunteers himself as tour guide and “bodyguard.’
After a bad breakup, Andie is looking to start over and determined to put her heart on hiatus. She’s working on her self-esteem, and she is not ready for the likes of Travis. He comes on strong, with all the energy of a guy almost ten years her junior, which is exactly what he is.
Even as Travis’s troubled past catches up with him, he pulls out all the stops to convince Andie he deserves a chance. And with the spring thaw hitting the Mountain View Resort, Andie discovers her own temperature rising whenever Travis looks her way…

I love older woman/younger man stories there’s just something so decadent about them even though the hero in this story is way more mature than his 25 years. Just What He Wanted is the fourth book in Helen Kay Dimon’s Holloway series and while you don’t have to read the other books in the story to enjoy this one knowing who all the characters are and their background will enhance your enjoyment of this book.
Travis Yardley is one of those men that you can’t help but admire. He had a rough childhood and if not for the kindness of strangers he probably would have wound up in prison or dead. Yet, he turned his life around and became a well respected, well liked member of the community. Despite being young, he’s an old soul and he is wise beyond his years in most things. However when he meets Andie Patterson he discovers how little he knows about women especially older women.
Andie Patterson is new in town and has taken a job in the country to get back to her roots. Coming off a breakup she’s happy for a new place to start over. When a young man comes to help her get settled in she’s attracted but thinks she’s too old and so not in his league. She soon finds out that Travis may be younger but he’s willing to work hard for what he wants and what he wants is her.
It was hard not to love both of these characters from the start. We’ve met Travis in earlier stories and while we got the idea there was more to his story we really find out quite a bit about his childhood in this one. He’s pretty remarkable and has dealt with adversity head on. Andie is like so many women (me included) who has battled her weight and no matter how much she loses she still see herself as overweight and not so attractive. I flat out LOVE that Travis sees her as beautiful; he doesn’t see her age, he doesn’t see her weight, he sees a sexy woman that he wants. Andie isn’t buying it and she makes Travis work for it. At times I really feel for Travis because although he means well, he doesn’t go about dealing with Andie’s body issues very well. However, and this is huge, he isn’t patronizing he HONESTLY just doesn’t understand but he gets there…eventually.
Just What He Wanted is an excellent story that many women will identify with and can hopefully learn from. It is a lovely romance filled with many sexy moments and with characters that despite their flaws are so genuine that you can’t help but adore them.
