I flat out loved that these two explore each other and figure out the joys of outdoor uninhibited sex; it was hot and fun and pretty damn exciting to read. Slick, Guilty Pleasures

Some men can’t be tamed
Domesticity can starve a man’s soul, and drifter cowboy Luke Griffin believes in absolute freedom. His gig at the Last Chance Ranch will end soon, and he’ll move on. But then Luke gets splashed by a green energy drink from a platform in a tree, and suddenly things get complicated.
Naomi Perkins was studying the nesting of a rare pair of bald eagles when she accidentally “baptizes” the delish cowboy. And when his shirt comes off good morning, libido! But this attraction isn’t just mutual—it’s fierce enough to send them both tumbling into a no-strings fling.
It’s a temporary arrangement, even if it is way more intense than anything Naomi could have imagined. But when the time comes, will she be able to let this wild cowboy go?

I finished this book and thought to myself, that was a damn fine romance. I mean, I loved it from beginning to end. Both the hero and heroine were interesting and likeable, the story plausible, and the romance sexy, fun, and at times a little wild.
beginning to end. Both the hero and heroine were interesting and likeable, the story plausible, and the romance sexy, fun, and at times a little wild.
When we met Luke Griffin in the last book, I immediately thought of the old song Ramblin’ Man. “Lord, I was born a ramblin’ man. Tryin’ to make a livin’ and doin’ the best I can. And when it’s time for leavin’ I hope you’ll understand that I was born a ramblin’ man.” He made no bones about it that he spends no more than a year in one place and while he’s thankful for the work while he’s there, he feels he must move on after that. We find out in this book that stems from his father’s unhappiness at being tied down and he told a young Luke over and over to never settle down, to travel and see the world. Luke took it to heart and has been traveling and working since he was old enough to leave home. Thing is Luke is a great guy; a hard worker, a good friend, and when he’s with a woman he makes sure she knows up front it’s very temporary. Honestly, it is hard not to love this man.
Naomi Perkins is one of those women I admire; she’s tough, she doesn’t let people run over her, and she makes no bones about loving her profession even if it isn’t glamorous. While I could never live in a tent for an extended period of time, the fact that she does it in the name of research and does it without complaining makes me an instant fan.
When Luke finds out Naomi is watching a nest of eagles out on the outskirts of the Last Chance ranch’s property he’s intrigued. It doesn’t take him long to ride out and meet what he’s decided must be a unique woman. I found myself so enamored with both of these characters and considering a lot of the story is just the two of them, I’m guessing that’s a good thing. The fact that Luke pretty much suggests to Naomi that they have a sexual affair while she’s on the ranch soon after meeting her kind of blew my mind. I mean yes, it was obvious they were attracted to each other, but he just lays it all out there and even still I can’t help but like the guy because he’s upfront and honest. I flat out loved that these two explore each other and figure out the joys of outdoor uninhibited sex; it was hot and fun and pretty damn exciting to read. The thing is they begin to share a lot more than sex and Naomi realizes she’s getting in too deep but decides that she’s going to enjoy it while it lasts and she’ll nurse her broken heart when he’s gone. I felt each of these characters grew so much in the time they shared and while it took Luke a little longer to figure it out…he finally did and in spectacular fashion.
This is one of those books that I know I’ll read again as I just keep thinking about it. I so enjoyed the characters, the beautiful outdoor setting, and the story but most of all it was watching two people who seemed so different realize they really are so much alike. Wild At Heart is sure to be a hit with anyone who enjoys sexy fun romance!
