It’s been a long time since and author has grabbed me like this and turned me upside down and inside out. The thing is Skye Jordan’s writing style felt like coming home; it was comfortable, snarky, playful and loving. ~ Slick, Guilty Pleasures

A couture wedding dress designer to the rich and famous, Lexi LaCroix’s image means everything. But crossing paths with a sexier-than-sin, bad-boy biker makes Lexi realize how much living she’s sacrificed for her success and one touch is all it takes to threaten her carefully choreographed life. When that touch fills far more than just Lexi’s physical needs, she finds herself torn between the career she needs and the bad-boy she craves.

Jax Chamberlin gave up the superficial life of acting for the thrill of running his own stunt company years ago. But a recent betrayal proves he’s still too close to the limelight to find a woman who doesn’t plan to use him as a stepping-stone to success. When the charming and mysterious Lexi offers him a totally anonymous hook-up during an out of town trip, Jax accepts. Only Lexi is more sextacular than charming, and Jax wants more.

But Lexi’s got a major hang-up over his renegade lifestyle, and Jax isn’t willing to change his ways. Especially not when he discovers who she really is. Because if she finds out his connections could catapult her to the top of her career, he’s afraid the fantasy woman he’s falling for might just end up like all the other gold-diggers. And this time, it’s not just his bad-boy reputation at risk, but his heart, too.

Whenever I finish a book and I want to immediately re-read it and I’m sad that it ended and I’m purestdelightawardalready thinking about a sequel and I’m scared to decide what to read next for fear it won’t come close to giving me the high I’m feeling from this one, I know I’ve read a freakin’ fabulous book. I had that thought as I read chapter 4 in this book, as Jax and Lexie got to know each other through a series of text messages while waiting for a flight and I fell in love with both of these complex characters. I had a feeling their story was going to be special and I was not wrong. In Reckless author Jordan Skye has given us witty and sexy dialog, steamy melt your panties off sex scenes, and an intricate plot that was unpredictable and highly entertaining. Not only that she has me salivating over the next book and I have no idea if or when it’s coming.

Jax is the owner of Renegades a stunt man business but he’s more than that. Jax is a former movie star with a well known and well connected Hollywood family. A family who has basically shunned him when he decided to take his career down a different path. Jax has been used by women in his past badly with his last girlfriend spilling secrets and costing him a big contract. He’s skeptical of women and doesn’t trust easily but truth be told he craves a home and family but he’s not sure how to find the right type of woman.

Lexie grew up on the wrong side of the tracks and has had to fight and claw her way to get what she’s wanted her whole life. She doesn’t mind hard work and she’s proud of what she’s accomplished but she’s at a point in her career where she’d like to have the recognition and financial security she craves. As one of world’s top bridal gown designers, she’s well known in the fashion world but she tries to stay out of the Hollywood limelight. She knows one wrong move could tank her business so she’s careful and with the exception of her best friend, Rubi she pretty much keeps to herself.

These two meet in an unconventional way and their first night together Lexi insists on no lights and pretty much complete anonymity. Jax doesn’t like it but goes with it figuring she’ll get past it but the next morning she’s gone and Jax feels that she is what has been missing from his life. She’s told him her business depends on her clean image and he understands why she’s skeptical of him and his image but it still bothers him. On top of that he has friends telling him she’s like all the other women who have used him and it’s making him crazy and ticking him off. I admire him for understanding her business is important to her and for leaving her alone despite the feelings he already has for her. Lexi meanwhile is trying to grow her business but finding there’s a whole other side to her and a different line she’d like to design.

Explosive is the one word I can use to describe these two together, it’s truly a wonder my Kindle Fire didn’t burst into flames as I read their intimate scenes but even more so it’s just the feel you get from these two when they are near each other. That rush of not wanting to be apart, that closeness you crave, that bone searing want that comes across each and every time they cross paths. And it a perfect world they’d know what they have and would never let go but their worlds are far from perfect and there are many forces that have them making choices neither one wants to make.

It’s been a long time since and author has grabbed me like this and turned me upside down and inside out. The thing is Skye Jordan’s writing style felt like coming home; it was comfortable, snarky, playful and loving and I have a new to me author that I’m so glad to share with our readers. I can’t say enough good things about Reckless, it is one of my top ten books for this year and as of today I’ve read over 250 books so hopefully that will help you understand how much I loved this story. I hope you’ll take a chance on this author and this book, I think you’ll find it was well worth your time.
