Married in the morning…
Professional heartbreaker Mike Worth thrived on the chase—and dancer Morgan Collins represented the ultimate prize. But there was no way he was going to throw away his single-man status…not even for an elusive redhead with sparkling eyes and mile-long legs. So how did he let one drunken Vegas night end with I do instead of hell no?
Morgan’s life revolved around her career and she had no intention of letting a man interfere—even if Mike made her question all her rules about love. At his urging, she reluctantly agreed to give their spur-of–moment marriage a chance. But once their trial-honeymoon ended, would she choose to follow the dance and leave her unforgettable husband behind?

Diane Alberts’ Take a Chance Series has been a little uneven for me. Some books I really liked but other’s missed the mark, however I’m so pleased that Take Me fits the former column. All along I knew one day Mike Worth would meet his match, but I never ever expected him to go down like he did and honestly, it was quite fitting. He’s never made any bones about the fact that he loves his lifestyle but keeps women at a distance and has no intentions of ever getting married. Memories of his mother’s heartbreak have convinced him he wants no part of that even if his friends and sister’s have been dropping like flies. But when he meets the female version of himself, things get very interesting very fast and soon he’s questioning everything.
I’ve loved Mike in each book even though he’s a man whore and even when he spreads his take on women because one thing about Mike is he’s always honest. Many people may not want to hear his honesty but he tells it like it is. When he and Morgan Collins meet he accidentally insults her but neither one can deny the immediate attraction and interest. So, imagine their surprise when they wake up the next morning hung over and wearing wedding bands; two people who spent the night before explaining to each other how much they didn’t want to get married and settle down.
I really loved watching these two trying to figure out their lives, learning about their hope and dreams, and their past hurts. Things people normally do before they reach the alter. I also enjoyed seeing a very different side of Mike; one we’ve seen glimpses of in the past. The Mike that realizes he wants home and hearth but also the Mike that begins to understand that just because you are involved with someone doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice yourself. Morgan was a little tougher nut to crack, she has some big hopes and dreams and a burning need to make them happen but when faced with losing a man she’s grown to love in a short period of time she begins to realize compromise is key and dreams can come true.
Although Take Me is a quick read, it felt complete. The characters went through some rapid changes but an unintentional marriage would probably do that to anyone. I loved seeing all the characters from the other books and the epilogue left this group in a very good place. Entertaining, sexy, and fun…consider me one satisfied reader!
