I was intrigued with Domino Effect and was totally surprised with the twists and turns the book took. ~ Kitty, Guilty Pleasures

18758923Description:
Peter Rostovich is an enigmatic international artist with ties to the Russian mafia. He manipulates everyone he comes in contract with and nobody can figure him out—not even himself. More than that, he has a taste for bondage, which he infuses into his art.
Virginal Nancy Delaney is an aspiring reporter who tries to crack Peter’s shell. His work is like nothing she’s ever seen—complete with a live sculpture that gets the exhibit shut down by the police.
Peter hates reporters, but Nancy captivates him to the point where he makes her part of his exhibit within seconds of meeting her. He introduces her to the world of BDSM, but his involvement in the criminal underworld puts Nancy in the sights of his fiercest enemy.

Inside Scoop: This is the first part of a trilogy that blends sex, bondage and international thrills into one exciting read, but watch out for the cliffhanger ending. You’ll be hanging on the edge, waiting for book two.

Yes, the ending of “Domino Effect” totally enraged me … a cliffhanger to beat all. Seriously, I never atruegemawardcared who shot J.R. but damn it, I want to know what is going to happen to Nancy and Peter. So not fair!

Nancy is a virgin. Peter is a Dominant. Nancy becomes a Dominatrix. Now, everything that happens between point A. and B. is unbelievable. From her meeting Peter the first time and having him “zip-tie” her to an “active” sculpture having anal sex to losing her virginity to Peter, her kidnapping and becoming a dominatrix, this book did not stop.

Nancy is an asexual person. Sex never interested her. Her goal in life is to graduate and become a journalist. Having a boyfriend just didn’t fit into her plans. Her roommate Hannah, on the other hand, is a very sexual and wealthy person. She asks Nancy to cover a new art exhibit for her for the magazine, Art News Now, but doesn’t realize exactly what she is getting her into. Nancy, in her wildest dreams, would never have imagined what was in store for her when she walked into The Flaming River Gallery and saw the bondage art that was on display. She never thought that she could get that excited from just looking at these pictures and she never thought that she would hand her virginity to a man who hated reporters and loved bondage. But she did and there’s no going back.

Peter is an enigma. He doesn’t do interviews, keeps his life separate from his artwork, never reveals anything about himself. But, there is something about Nancy Delaney that has him opening up, giving her an interview and taking her virginity – as she is tied to the bed. He can’t stop thinking about her, wanting her. He knows she’s the key to unraveling the mystery of his artwork but she can also be his downfall. When she calls him and accuses him of sending “goons” to her parents to find out everything about her, he knows that there is trouble in the future. He didn’t send them but he thinks he knows who did … Bluschencko. A man with no boundaries – kidnapping, murder, sex slaves – nothing is beyond him. If he has set his sights on Nancy, nothing good will become of it.

I guess I really do enjoy capture fantasies. I was intrigued with Domino Effect and was totally surprised with the twists and turns the book took. Nancy had me a little confused though. To go from not caring about sex to begging to be tied up her first time having sex was a little beyond my way of thinking. She also had some very, very vivid dreams about BDSM, bondage and being a Dominatrix. That seemed a little strange coming from a woman who only gave one blow-job in her life to her prom date, never masturbated and had no idea what an orgasm was. But, if you overlook that, the book is really good. The mystery combined with the BDSM and the damned cliffhanger has me looking forward to the second book in the Domino Trilogy. I am looking forward to finding out how they get out of Bluschencko’s clutches, who the shadows are in the artwork and is Nancy a Submissive or a Dominatrix or a Switch.
