This is a tale so beyond sizzling that you just might need to read it with a fan and ice water. I’m pretty sure your e-reader will not melt, but it just might fog up pretty bad! ~ KcLu, Guilty Pleasures

12781027Description:
Prince Devnar of Jensia is goaded into raiding the wrong space ship, springing a trap that captures him for use as a Royal pleasure slave, a Concubine, on Kyrimia. He vows to do everything he can to escape and keep from forming a psychic bond with his captors that would render him absolutely and totally in love. This proves difficult to do when the female Breaker assigned to turn him into a Concubine, Melania, is the epitome of his perfect woman.

Melania has been raised and trained to help reluctant and abused Novices to break through their personal blocks and attain the ultimate prize of becoming a Concubine. When she is given Devnar to train, she finds herself in danger of doing the forbidden and falling in love with her Novice. This angry, scarred, and utterly seductive male tests her self-control like no other.

Devnar and Melania find themselves at the heart of a galaxy wide political battle that will test a love that they must not acknowledge, and cannot live without, to its very limits.

There are sometimes that your brain gets in certain moods, and this week I was in a MMF kind ofatruegemaward mood. I wanted a story that wasn’t a quick novella. I wanted to be involved with the characters, and I really wanted one of them to be a straight man struggling with falling for his friend. But what I got was a whole lot of amazingness!! I happened to have this book in my kindle app on my iPad, and the cover called me big time! This book appealed to all the dark recesses of my heart. All those parts that like a touch of dubious consent and BDSM mixed in my books.

Prince Devnar and two of his men are captured when he is give bad information on a ship to raid. He made a vow to his men that he would free them, but he it isn’t as easy as he thought it would be. The collar on his neck electrocutes him every time he tries to go through a door he isn’t supposed to, and he has been given a drug that sends him into a frenzy mate. He keeps angering his captors, because he refuses to allow himself to come no matter how bad it physically hurts him. On his planet that release could bond him to the person he releases in, and he would be powerless to resist that person. When the evil witch behind his abduction sends his new breaker to him, he has a bit of a problem. She is exactly the kind of woman he has always been drawn to.

Melania hasn’t had the easiest of life. She was given away at birth, because of what her people see as a defect. She has two different colored eyes, and she does not have a curvy body like most of the women on her planet. But she is the best breaker on her planet. There is something about the new novice she is given to train that just appeals to her. She must fight it though. She has been given the opportunity to earn the one thing she thought she would never have, a concubine of her own. Too bad the one she wants is the one that she can’t have, Devnar. Can she resist him for her own good?

This story drew me in from the start. Ann Mayburn builds this world so perfectly that you can truly picture them as though you have once visited them yourself. The hotness and intenseness of her scenes of dominance are woven so incredibly that I felt myself in the head space of the submissive. This is a tale so beyond sizzling that you just might need to read it with a fan and ice water. I’m pretty sure your e-reader will not melt, but it just might fog up pretty bad! I can’t recommend it enough!!! 🙂
