Book two in the Hope series introduces us to a stubborn sexy cowboy and one feisty flirty movie star. When their worlds collide, Ms. Burton grants her readers a fast-paced romance that is full of passion, excitement and a beautiful love that is worth fighting for.

We first met Logan in Hope Flames. He is a standoffish brooding rancher and brother to the small town sheriff, Luke McCormack. Not much has changed in his life until he agrees to let a film crew rent part of his ranch to film a movie.
He likes his life simple and quiet and this movie crew taking up residency on his land is not conducive to his small town peaceful lifestyle.

Des is the beautiful leading lady in the film and is immediately attracted to Logan. She has been living the rapid intense Hollywood lifestyle since she was a teenager and is ready for a change.

Even though there is an immediate attraction these two have for one another, the story is really built around them getting to know each other before they begin a romantic relationship. It allowed readers to really understand the background issues each carry that eventually come into play.

Their relationship is intense and sizzling hot, but also consumed with humor and honesty. Des is brutally honest about her feelings towards Logan and he is not used to such a straight shooter. It leads into some hysterical moments between the two.
This story is loaded with a great secondary cast. We get to see quite a bit of Luke and Emma. There is also a side story with Desiree’s costar and his boyfriend. I loved the balance of the two and how it all entwined around one main story.

The conflict was a bit predictable. When you have a story about a rancher from a small town in Oklahoma and a Hollywood movie star you pretty much know they don’t have a lot in common in their lifestyles. Even though it’s a common plot in romance novels, there is so much more going on in this story than just that, it really takes on a very original turn of events and makes this book stand out on its own. The characters are very well developed and help the reader to truly understand the emotions and challenges they are facing.

Logan has issues from his past he is holding on to. Until he is ready to deal with and accept that not everyone is like his mother, his future is guaranteed to be very lonely. It’s a real struggle for him to come to terms and acknowledge the fact that he deserves to be happy. Des is an incredible loyal strong lady who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to fight for it. These two are so opposite from each other, but they are amazing as a couple. They truly draw off of each other’s strengths.

If you haven’t started this series yet, get on board and grab it. I promise you will be held hostage in Oklahoma.
