Emma was on her own quest to locate her missing brother, when she lands on the same island and meets up with the one person she hopes to never see again, Cole.
You can sense there is more to their relationship then either wants to admit, but with their past history neither one is willing to trust the other. I thought the author did a good job capturing their emotions in the book. You could feel both Cole and Emma’s internal struggle. Can they count on each other? Is either one willing to take a chance?
At times, I felt there were too many plot twists and turns. This caused me to have an internal debate wondering who should Emma trust with her secrets. I liked the fact that Emma was written as a strong female heroine. She was able to assist Cole on his personal mission to destroy the drug mastermind pulling the strings.
The book was heavy on suspense but could have used a bit more romance with the main characters. Overall it kept me entertained and I enjoyed the read.
