The Whispering cove series always manages to entertain, give me a few laughs, and without a doubt it offers some supremely sizzling hot fun. ~ Slick, Guilty Pleasures
Feisty Description:
As the campfire dies down, one couple’s desire is just heating up.
Whispering Cove, Book 10
Sun, sand, water and cold beer is just what construction worker Devon Taylor is looking for. The first beach party of the season means fun pickin’s for a bachelor, especially when a volleyball-playing, redheaded beauty in a teeny tiny string bikini captures his attention.
When he learns she’s the sister of a soon-to-be-married friend, in town two weeks early to help with the wedding, his hopes for a wild night locked in her arms are dashed.
Real estate developer Sahara Caan is a woman not to be ignored. She knows what—or rather, whom—she wants, and tonight she is hell bent on getting the sexy bachelor out of his swimming trunks and into her bed.
What can Devon say? After all, he’s just a man.
Their night spent together is earthshattering. Who knew that a laid-back construction worker could so thoroughly turn her world upside-down? But when their different lives clash and good intentions turn sour, it will take a miracle to keep their love nailed together.
Warning: Contains one sworn bachelor and a career-minded woman who refuses to deny their bodies’ desires. Sparks could rival Fourth of July fireworks, so protective eyewear is recommended.
Fiery Description:
The one way they don’t rub each other wrong is in each other’s arms.
Whispering Cove, Book 11
Carmen Smith’s artist’s eye saw inspiration wherever she glanced as soon as she set foot on the cobbled streets of Whispering Cove, and among the inspiration she’s found the slower pace she always hoped for.
But as warm as her new life is, she harbors a secret dream to find a man who sees her as an equal and who loves her for who she is, rather than out of charity. The man she’s been partnered with to re-design the town square gets her fired up—but not in a way she expected.
Ryan Alden gave up his military career to help his father with the family business. He’s accepted his place in Whispering Cove, but still feels like an outsider at times. When he meets the bombshell babe with a vintage flare who challenges him like no other, he glimpses the life he has always longed for—but not in a way he anticipated.
From the get-go, they clash like oil and watercolor. And a relationship that looked good on paper might not be the right composition at all…
Warning: This title contains an order-barking Gunny, a woman who won’t be told what to do, and a whole new meaning for “home is where the heart is.”
Flirty Description:
A summer fling so hot, it can raise spirits…
Whispering Cove, Book 12
Home renovation specialist Alexis Miller thought snapping up an old Victorian fixer-upper in podunk Whispering Cove would put her on the fast track to proving herself to her brothers.
She can handle cooling her heels to wait for the right permits. It’s the ghosthunter claiming he needs to spend the night to check out the “cold spots” that’s got her body temperature fluctuating.
When Sam Doherty responds to an emergency phone call to cleanse a haunted house in Whispering Cove, the first thing he notices is how Alexis hides her femininity behind baggy coveralls-and how she wants to cover up the old home’s beauty with modern frills. As a guy who “sees” things others can’t, he sets out to teach her to appreciate the hidden beauty, inside and out.
Scary noises soon send Alexis into Sam’s arms, and when a kiss leads to passionate lovemaking, Alexis wonders if it’s possible to find common ground in this small town. Or, once the house is “clean,” if Sam will disappear faster than a ghostly apparition.
Warning: Contains enough sexual tension to raise spirits and turn any cold spot into a sweltering vortex of heat and passion.

Feisty (Whispering Cove #10) by MacKenzie McKade 4 stars
I’m very happy to be back in Whispering Cove and to see what the town’s meddling grandpa’s have in store for the younger generation. They never cease to amaze me with their underhandedness and how they manage to bring together people who have no intentions of falling in love.
There’s no mistaking that Devon Taylor is a guy who enjoys his work, hanging out with his buddies (although they are dropping like flies after being bitten by the love bug), a cold beer, and the warm comforts of a woman. He’s unapologetic about his simple needs so when he meets his friend Leo’s sister, Sahara and she makes it know she’d like to spend time with him he’s torn. As much as he wants the beautiful red head, it’s his friend’s sister but when the friend basically gives him his blessing he’s toast.
I really loved these characters together mainly because they aren’t shy about what they want and have no problems telling each other what turns them on. They don’t play games, they agree to a fling while Sahara is in town to prepare for her brother’s wedding and know there is a time limit on what they have together. So of course it was interesting to watch as they began to have feelings beyond lust and had no idea what to do or how to change their situation.
Given that they don’t spend a whole lot of time talking, it’s a shock when Devon (and the town) realizes what Sahara has planned for their sleepy little community and things get really interesting.
While I would have loved more of this story, I can’t say I’m disappointed in how it played out. I knew going in it was a novella and things would move quickly and honestly it was easy to see the changes in these two as they spent more time together.
Sexy as all get out with a healthy dose of spirited debate thrown in for good measure, Feisty is another fine addition to this fun series.
Fiery (Whispering Cove #11) by Nikki Duncan 4.5 stars
Author Nikki Duncan managed to surprise me with this story but I’m not going to say how, you’ll just have to read it and find out. What I will share with you though, is this is not a typical couple; they don’t meet and fall fast in love if anything they have this burning attraction but they can’t stop arguing. They seem to bring out the worst in one another yet at times they seem to complete one another. They are a conundrum but one that works.
Carmen Smith’s life has never been easy; abandoned by her parents she and her sister did everything they could to stay together and since moving to Whispering Cove they’ve felt more at home than anywhere. Now with her sister married and traveling with her famous husband and their daughter, Carmen is trying to figure out where she fits in her world. Being notified that her drawing for revamping the town’s square both makes her proud and scares her all at the same time. Learning she’ll be working with Ryan Alden who is home after leaving the military to help his family thrills her until the man opens his mouth and inserts his foot.
The thing I really loved about this couple was they were both searching for something and found it in each other despite spending a lot of time being upset, mad, or just plain crazed over the other person. Both characters had abandonment issues stemming from incidents in their lives and yet when together it just felt right. I’ll be the first to admit that Ryan lacked tact, big time and Carmen wears her feelings on her sleeve so yes, it did take them awhile to figure out how to work around those issues but it was very enjoyable to watch.
It was hard not to love this book; anytime a couple has an adversarial relationship when they fall it’s usually pretty epic and let’s just say Ryan pulled out all the stops. Fiery was intense, sexy, and so very enjoyable and another fine addition to this fun series.
Flirty (Whispering Cove #12) by Cathryn Fox 4 stars
I’ve got to hand it to Cathryn Fox because she writes the most devious of the grandpa’s by far. Errol really went to some great lengths in this book to get his couple together. Alexis Miller and Sam Doherty are thrown together by unusual circumstances and go from Flirty to down and dirty in a heartbeat but it was so deliciously sexy who the hell cares?
In town to flip an old Victorian house and prove to her brothers and father that she’s worthy of being a part of the family business back home, Alexis (Lex) Miller runs into all sorts of problems with the preservation committee refuses to issue the permits she needs to modernize the old homestead. Sam Doherty is back in Whispering Cove to help out the friend of his grandfather who claims an old home is invaded with a ghost. A respected ghost hunter, Sam soon figures out there’s no ghost in the house but something is going on and he doesn’t plan to let the pretty homeowner fight it herself.
Talk about lust at first sight, the minute these two lay eyes on one another they start having sexy thoughts. I liked these two together and while this is an extremely sexy story, it just seemed to move at too fast of a pace. There just wasn’t a lot of getting to know you time and I was disappointed in the rush at the end where a lot of really big life decisions were made in the blink of an eye. I did however really like these characters and the way they fit into each other’s lives.
Flirty contained some fun, a little bit of deviousness, and a whole lot of sexy times making it an entertaining addition to this series.
The Whispering cove series always manages to entertain, give me a few laughs, and without a doubt it offers some supremely sizzling hot fun. These books are perfect for the hot summer months to come and will have you wishing for your own beach side romance.
