She needs a lesson in love, and he’s the perfect teacher.

Mechanic Melody Swan is looking for a man who can share her hopes and dreams, but she swore she would never lose herself to passion. When sexy Heath Starr agrees to temporarily sub in the Under the Hood garage for his sister, Mel sees the perfect opportunity to enjoy being with a man without becoming attached.

Heath came to Meadowsweet to photograph nature, not find a hookup, especially since his last relationship ended in disaster. He vowed he’d never break another woman’s heart, and in turn, protect his own. Still, when Mel offers to serve as his outdoor guide, he can’t refuse.

Mel may say she’s only looking for right now, but her body is speaking a whole different language. And Heath’s viewfinder is drawn to her time and again. When the two find themselves isolated in a rustic cabin, they could both break their promises if they aren’t careful…

Love for Beginners by Sally Clements is one of those books that makes me smile. I love books where one of the main characters has had a crush on the other but assumes nothing can ever come of it. Brought together by circumstance, it was fun to watch the hero and heroine agree to a fling but both find so much more.

When Melody Swan and her two friends opened their car repair garage they agreed that they would only employ women so that women customers would always feel they weren’t being taken advantage of. When her partner Alice is injured and business is stacking up Alice comes up with the perfect solution, bring in her brother, Heath, temporarily to help.

It was hard not to like Melody; a smart businesswoman and trying her best to keep the business going and help her mom after she was laid off. However Mel has some issues stemming from her Dad leaving before she was born and a very strange view on what she wants from the man who shares her life. A view that changes when she feels something for Heath she’s never felt before.

All Heath wants to do is help his sister out and give his brother a chance to prove to their Dad he’s more the capable of taking over the business. While Heath has enjoyed working for the family, his true passion is photography and he’s poised to finally make his dreams come true. What he doesn’t expect is to have a wrench thrown in his plans when he spends time with Melody.
While this book moves at a fast pace there was just something about the way these two characters related to one another that had me rooting for them to figure it out. They shared so much of themselves with one another in the short time they spent together often offering each other very sage advice. Heath was able to help Melody through her intimacy issues by proving to her that her problems in the past were not her fault.

Thoroughly enjoyable and incredibly sexy don’t miss Love For Beginners!
