18809304Description:
The Kelly Group International (KGI): A super-elite, top secret, family-run business.
Qualifications: High intelligence, rock-hard body, military background.
Mission: Hostage/kidnap victim recovery. Intelligence gathering. Handling jobs the U.S. government can’t…

Eden is said to be one of the most beautiful women in the world. Her face has graced countless magazines and her body has sold millions of dollars of clothing. But her fame and beauty has earned her more than she ever imagined. Evil is stalking her, determined to extinguish the ethereal beauty forever.

Swanson or “Swanny” as his teammates call him is always up for the next mission. He came back from Afghanistan wounded and scarred. Hardly the kind of man who even belongs in the same room with Eden. And yet there’s something about the quiet beauty that stirs his blood and makes him dream of the impossible. Because Beauty loving the beast only happens in fairy tales and KGI doesn’t deal in fairy tales. Ever.

After being disappointed with Donavan’s story, was a little leery about Swanny’s story, but Maya Banks delivers another great KGI atruegemawardstory. When Day Breaks brings in snippets of past KGI members and bits about past happenings with KGI team members. The story flowed and came together nicely.

Swanny has many demons he is fighting, not only coming back from the war with scares on the outside but also on the inside. He finds family and hope with the KGI family and becomes part of the team and family that is so much more. Eden is a model who is beauty and perfection, her appearance is what gets her her jobs. She is beauty, innocence and perfection to Swanny’s scares. After attempts are made on Eden’s life KGI is brought in by Eden’s brother to keep her safe. Swanny’s team takes on this mission and along the way Swanny and Eden find that appearances are not what love is about, love comes from not only outward appearances, but what is on the inside that really matters. Everyone deals with life scares, outside or inside, as Swanny struggles to understand what Eden could possibly see in him, he falls for her and she sees the beauty and emotion that is Swanny that few people see. They fall in love even with bullets and RPG’s flying, photo shoots, shopping trips, cranky directors and a little help from Swanny’s team mate telling him and Eden they are both worth it.

Maya Banks delivers another great read in the KGI series. Swanny has the heart of gold, but few people really get to see that side of him underneath all the scars he carries not only on the outside, but inside as well. Eden and her beauty bring Swanny to a new light in this book and love, danger and mystery  abound.
