Desire Unleashed is the 9th book in Leah Brook’s Desire Oklahoma series and is a delightful addition to the group. The characters are well drawn and likeable and the story is captivating.
Nat and Jake have a great marriage and are more in love now than when they married over 20 years ago. But Jake has been keeping a secret in recent months, and Nat is shocked to learn that he has okayed having her first love, Hoyt, come to live with them, now that he has retired from the Navy SEALs.
Jake realizes Nat still loves Hoyt and he is willing to try a ménage. Nat is torn by the fact she still has feelings for her son’s father, but she depends on Jake in a way she and Hoyt never developed. She doesn’t want to hurt Jake and she’s afraid of Hoyt leaving again. But Hoyt has tried to forget Nat and can’t-he’s in the relationship for the long haul. While the three of them work to make a relationship work, dark forces in the town create a threat no one had anticipated.
This was a thoroughly enjoyable read. The author’s exploration of the character’s doubts and fears is superb, and other than a couple of typos, the writing is clean and well done. Expect some spanking and light bondage, but nothing too intense, although the sex scenes sizzle.
I haven’t read one of these in a very long time, need to rectify that asap…Thanks for the review Shadow
I have been waiting for this story because she has been dropping hints of their problems in the last couple of books. Thanks for your review.
