Sherrilyn Kenyon’s telling of a story never leaves the reader wanting. She gives you everything that you are hoping for and then a little bit more. ~ Kitty, Guilty Pleasures
Description:
The war is on…
Counted among the fiercest Andarion warriors ever born, Hauk is one of the five founding members of the Sentella- an organization that has declared war on the League that rules the Ichidian universe with an iron fist and terrifies it with an army of well-trained assassins. Hauk’s enemies are legion, but he fears nothing and no one. He will do whatever it takes to survive and protect his Sentella brethren.
Sumi Antaxas is one of the best assassins the League has ever trained. In her world, failure is not an option and she has never met a target she couldn’t execute. So when she’s assigned Hauk, she believes it’ll be a quick and easy mission.
But nothing is ever as simple as it seems, and Hauk is far better trained and skilled than his dossier shows. More than that, as she pursues him, she stumbles upon the key that will bring down not only Hauk, but the entire Sentella organization.
In the race to report her information, she is overtaken by enemies out to end her as effectively as she intends to end Hauk. Now her only key to survival is the one man she’s been sent to kill. And Hauk doesn’t trust her at all.
The only question is, will he help her to live… or send her to her grave.

Sherrilyn Kenyon’s telling of a story never leaves the reader wanting. She gives you everything that
you are hoping for and then a little bit more.
The story of Dancer Hauk was a long awaited one. Silent, moody, a man unto himself. As his life is not his to live, he carries on the “Hauk” name in shame and with little confidence for his future. He loves his brothers and their families but knows that there is no happily ever after in his future. Taking his nephew, Darice and Nyk’s daughter, Thia on Endurance, Dancer Hauk meets the woman that could bring him to his knees and end his life … not with a blaster or a knife, but with the temptation that she brings him. Never having lain with a woman, never having been loved by a woman, Dancer Hauk can lose his life just for lusting after Sumi. As he gets to know the woman behind the assassin, he know that there is no true way he could ever give himself to another, especially Darice’s mother, Dariana.
Sumi Antaxas is a trained assassin sent by Kyr to capture him and bring him back to The League. This is not a choice that she made with her life but, when she killed her boyfriend, her life was no longer hers. To save the life of her baby, Sumi agrees to joining The League. What she does not count on is Hauk being a compassionate, loving, sexy male that could make her rethink all of her opinions of males. But, she has Kalea to think about … getting her out of the hands of The League. Does she give up her daughter for the love she is feeling for Dancer or does she do as she was ordered and bring the Sentella down?
A rescue, the generosity of people who she felt wouldn’t want her around, the realization of all that she thought true being wrong, and a very special promise from the man she was sent to kill, brings Sumi into a life that she never thought she would have. A fight to the death with the woman who has made Hauk’s life a living Hell, ends with some truths that have been hidden from the whole Hauk family and brings Sumi, Dancer, Kalea and Darice into a family filled with love and honor.
I love the writings of Sherrilyn Kenyon and am never disappointed with the stories that she weaves for us. I was surprised when I had a hard time getting into the story of Sumi and Hauk. The beginning is the history of the Andarians and how both Hauk and Sumi got to this point in their lives. Several flashbacks and stories explaining why each of them are the way they are today. But, I was thrilled when I was able to push past all this and get to the real heart of the story. The love that Hauk and Sumi had for each other was finally brought to life and what each would give up for the other was brought alive on the pages of “Born of Fury”. All of our favorite Sentella men and woman and an introduction to a new man, brought the story together and proved, once again, that Ms. Kenyon has a way with words and the telling of a story that leaves the reader gratified and happy. Now, we need to find a mate for Fain!
