Nestled in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, the beautiful town of Paradise is the perfect place to raise a family, have dinner at the local diner…and chase a ruthless killer.

Jacob Stone is an undercover DEA Agent dead-set on getting vengeance for his sister’s death. When his sources tell him that the drug dealer he’s been searching for will soon be setting up a distribution center in the seemingly innocent town of Paradise, he moves in for the kill.

What Jake wasn’t counting on, however, was falling in love with gorgeous Harmony McKinnon – the ex-wife of the man he was determined to eliminate.

Harmony McKinnon never believed she’d find love again….not after the horrors she lived through with her ex-husband. When she meets secretive Jacob Stone and soon falls in love, she never expected that her life would be in danger again…or that the man she’d come to trust would betray her.

Can Jake make Harmony understand his motives? Can Harmony trust him in spite of the past? Will they have their happily ever after?

Not everything is as it seems in the sleepy, little town of Paradise, Tennessee!

Hard as Stone is the second book in the Passion in Paradise: The Men of the McKinnon Sisters Series, but is a stand-alone novel (165,000 words) that can be easily read without reading the first book.

Harmony McKinnon is a single mother that puts her daughter and sisters first and herself last. She’s atruegemawardhappy working in the family bar and expanding her new event planning business, no need for a man in her plans.

Jacob Stone comes to town and turns Harmony’s world upside down. He’s taking her on dates, they’re falling in love and all the while Jake’s hiding the fact that he’s investigating her and her ex-husband.

Things heat up quickly between the two but I love how Harmony knew Jake was hiding something and she decided to be proactive; not just blindly trusting him, Harmony went searching for answers. No weak and meek women here, those McKinnon sisters protect their own. I love this little town and these strong sisters.

Jake’s omitting information brought danger to their doorstep and things take a turn from bliss to nightmares in a blink of an eye.

Hard as Stone was an emotional roller-coaster for my mind, heart and soul, there were highs and lows; I never knew where the story was going to take me. Who knew a gunshot wound and a trip to the E.R. could be the funniest thing every!! The dialog between these close friends added a sense of togetherness. When the truth is revealed you find yourself wondering should she forgive him. Is love worth talking another chance? And of course you want the next book in the series cause the crazy sister is next!
