This book has everything you’re looking for in a New Adult novel. A young woman out on her own, a new group of friends who support her and her decisions and a military hottie who only has eyes for her.
I think the author did a great job drawing the reader into Cat and Jace’s world. I was vested immediately in their story and found it difficult to put down. You were able to feel a connnection between the two on their first meeting.
Despite being sheltered most of her life Cat was able to find a group of friends who excepted her. Quirks and all. She was able to let her guard down and find her own voice. Especially with Jace.
And then there’s Jace. He’s a resident good guy. His upbringing causes him to defend and protect the ones who can’t protect themselves. Too bad he forgets this a little. Thank goodness he has the help from Cat’s friends to put him back in line.
And now I wait on pins and needles until book 2.
