On the wrong side of thirty, Austin Montgomery is ready to settle down. Unfortunately, his inked sleeves and scruffy beard isn’t the suave business appearance some women crave. Only finding a woman who can deal with his job, as a tattoo artist and owner of Montgomery Ink, his seven meddling siblings, and his own gruff attitude won’t be easy.

Finding a man is the last thing on Sierra Elder’s mind. A recent transplant to Denver, her focus is on opening her own boutique. Wanting to cover up scars that run deeper than her flesh, she finds in Austin a man that truly gets to her—in more ways than one.

Although wary, they embark on a slow, tempestuous burn of a relationship. When blasts from both their pasts intrude on their present, however, it will take more than a promise of what could be to keep them together.

This was a lively, interesting book with a fascinating plot, awesome characters, and some sizzling atruegemawardhot sex scenes.

Sierra Elder has finally put her past behind her and opened up her own boutique shop, right across from Montgomery Ink, where Austin Montgomery and his family hold sway. When she first meets Austin, he is rude and she decides she wants nothing to do with him. Austin has other ideas and the two start tiptoeing into a relationship. They find they are perfect for each other, with both of them wanting Austin in charge in the bedroom.

But even though they seem perfectly suited, family issues, past and present, start clouding their emotions, and threaten to derail their relationship. Can this brave, caring woman and the rough talking, overly protective man overcome the issues to find a happily ever after?

This is one of the Montgomery Ink series. Expect flogging and anal sex, but the BDSM element of the relationship is probably the least important. I will happily look for more books by this author.

Author Carrie Ann Ryan sucked me in with her first two Montgomery Ink books and now I can’t stay atruegemawardaway. I love this crazy, large, and very vocal family and more than that I love how they take care of one another, how the support each other, and how they use tough love when it is warranted. It really doesn’t get much better than that; the Montgomery family is the Cosby’s of this generation with a twist (a kinky one) but that makes them even more real.

It is REALLY hard not to love a man who is ready to settle down because he wants the same type of relationship his parent’s have had for years (yep, insert the “awwww” soundtrack right now). Headed towards 40, Austin hasn’t met the right woman not by a long shot and his latest ex has turned into somewhat of a stalker coming on to him at home, via text and in the tattoo shop he owns with his sister. Big, burly, bearded, and tattooed Austin knows most people look at him and figure he’s an ex-con but in reality he’s a son, brother, uncle, and an all around nice guy. Unfortunately that’s not the first impression he makes on Sierra Elder when she walks in his shop to inquire about getting a tattoo.

Sierra can’t believe the judgmental oaf she encounters when she walks into Montgomery Ink but she’s not going to let him stop her from getting the tattoo she needs to move past the scars that cover her body. Tough, smart, and resilient Sierra is bound and determined to put the past behind her and get on with living her life.

I immediately connected with both of these characters and found them so intriguing and fun. That’s not to say they both didn’t have some baggage because as the story went on their baggage kept multiplying but what I loved is that they both managed to deal with it very well. I loved that from early on Austin saw what Sierra needed and was there to help her admit it and accept it. Sierra was completely accepting of all parts of Austin even parts he didn’t know about and I admire her ability to just roll with it without freaking out. I’m sure that’s largely due to everything she’s had to deal with in the last 10 years.

Ms. Ryan weaves many side stories into this book which only added to an already intricate and satisfying love story. As always this author doesn’t fail to captivate us with her sensual sex scenes with a little bit of kink thrown in to make it that much more interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting all of the Montgomery clan and seeing characters from earlier books as well. They are a colorful and entertaining group and I can’t wait to see more of them as this series plays out.

Delicate Ink features a little suspense, a little kink, a whole lot of sexy fun, two made for each other characters and it is another fantastic book in the Montgomery Ink series.
